I didn't see the game but Hayes had a goal and an assist. I wish everyone on our team was as god awful as that.
Ok, yea he scored, guess who coughed the pick up to create a 3 on 1 for the game winner, second time this season. Guess who skates into the opposing offensive zones time after time only to try some move and lose the puck. JVR scores once in a blue moon too, and he is God awful also.

He's on pace to have over 20 goals and have 82 points all while being a 2nd line center playing against the other teams best lines because of the Couts injury. I think you may be expecting too much from him. There are so many other players that deserve to be trashed before Hayes. Laughton and Sanheim come to mind right off the bat.

I don't like him out there in OT as there is too much ice and he isn't very fast. Horrible turnover ended with a 3 on 1.

Missed the last two games as well. Dangerous to get out of the habit of watching and the losses build up making the motivation to watch less and less.

They did come back from 2 goals down - twice. That’s resolve. We won’t win OT games with the current roster, unless you just through out the fastest guys, even if they are the youngsters.

We are in a 10-game losing streak repeat of last year. If Torts can get them to get a win in the next two games we will have broken the spell from last year which would be a small accomplishment and setting the Torts team back on track. If we lose in the next two games, it is the shitshow season all over again.

Im not positive but i believe we had two 10 game losing streaks last year so i cam pretty much guarantee that wont happen again.

Whoooaaa slow down we only have 4 losses in a row its way to early to start talking about a 10 game losing streak.

Some good news From the Athletic:

Since the move back to center on Nov. 5, Gauthier’s production has exploded. He has four goals and six points in his last four games, including a dominant two-goal, one-assist performance on Friday against Northeastern. But arguably even more impressive than his point production has been his renewed ability to create shots — 22 shots on goal across the past four games, including two six-shot games and two five-shot showings.

Gauthier is peppering goalies now, after getting just seven pucks total on net over his first four collegiate games. And considering that his cannon of a shot has long been one of his biggest — if not his biggest — strengths as a player, it’s little surprise that the increased volume is leading to a deluge of goals.

“It was just nice knowing that I can go out and take over a game with my shot,” Gauthier said.

I hate to be like this, but it looks bad for tonight. I'll put the over/under on how many goals we lose by at 2.5. Boston is absolutely rolling, especially on home ice. They are 9-0-0 and we are definitely struggling a bit. I can't see us even making this a competitive game, unfortunately.

Ummmmm, no! The ONLY reason this game wasn't a total blow out was because of Hart. This kid can only do so much, if we're not getting lucky bounces in front of the net our offense slow and not much finesse. Teams like Boston are going to make you work for every inch of offensive ice and with virtually no players on that level we just couldn't get a good scoring chance, even the couple of times we did sustain a little pressure.

Well, that might be the beginning of the end of our season if Konecny is out for any significant length of time. He left in the 2nd period with the dreaded upper body injury. That guy has been the only elite forward that we have this season. I would argue that we have other(s), but they remain out with injuries themselves.

I feel really bad for Carter Hart. Dude stands on his head for just about the entire game and still gives up four goals with only an .875 save percentage. Thanks to him, this was a one score game still halfway through the 3rd and then they pretty much spanked us for the last 10 minutes.

That's a team in Boston which doesn't even have to be good or play hard for 40, 50 or 60 minutes to get wins. They turn it on for a few minutes, score a quick couple of goals and the game is over.

Also don't get me wrong, I like this team has fight, but we were outclassed tonight. We also saw the Provorov of ghosts past. He was horrible.

Provy just had a rough 3rd period. If we don't win at Montreal or home against Calgary, this losing streak might actually reach ten for the second consecutive year in the exact same period of time. Every fucking game is going to be "we tried hard and Hart kept it close for 2+ periods, but we still ultimately took the L."

Everyone that wants us to tank for a top pick in the next draft should be thrilled if Konecny has a serious injury, because that'll do it. Not a chance in hell we can be competitive long-term without him.

I like what Torts just said after the game.

This team doesn't understand what adversity is yet.

He's right though. We're giving teams freebies, quite frankly. No goalie in the world stops breakaway after breakaway after 2 on 1 after 3 on 1 etc. against elite level players. Hart is doing absolutely everything he can and we're not supporting him enough offensively or defensively. He also said essentially we're not likely to ever be good enough defensively to win games 1-0 and 2-1, so we have to make plays and score more goals.

I think basically we have to start scoring dirty. Throw every fucking puck at the net with traffic and try to pump home the loose change.

Good news: That dude Cutter Gauthier, our 5th overall pick from earlier this year, has 4 goals and 2 assists with 22 shots in just his last four games for Boston College as a freshman.

It's obviously early, but this 18 year old kid (soon to be 19) is already physically big enough for the Nhl. He could be our first or second line center before anyone expected. You'd think he will soon be in the Ahl, at the very least. By soon, I mean perhaps 3-4 months from now, once his season at BC is over with. Then he'll probably start with the Phantoms next season and potentially get called up to the Nhl once he adjusts to the pro game.

We played a pretty good game against one of the best teams in the league on the road. We were the better team by a lot in the first period just didnt bury our chances After that the lack of talent showed plus we took dumb penalties.

On a side note your boy Hayes got another point. He really is as slow as a turtle. :dhd: but i dont mind as long as he produces.
