Should've had this one. Another frustrating loss. Sanheim nearly had his 1st and we had plenty of other chances to score, but not enough guys can finish often enough. Also too many dumb penalties taken. Some were just plain weak, so I understand, but Ottawa cashed in twice and that broke the game open in the 3rd.

If that does actually happen, I'll feel like this shit is rigged. What are the odds that we'd have losing streaks of that length in back to back seasons during the exact same time frame!? Lol

I'm going to predict that it won't happen simply because this team is building a new identity where we don't quit.

It was a special teams disaster against the Stars. We can't go 0 for 6 on the power play and expect to win. We can't let the other team go 2 for 3 on their power play and we can't allow shorthanded goals either. We were 3 for 3 on fucking ourselves out of a victory.

I don't think I've ever seen a team get beaten so badly in the faceoff circle either. Dallas won 43 of 58 draws, which is good for 74.1%. That allows them to possess the puck for most of the game. It just can't happen. The top faceoff men in the league are at around 58-62% efficiency. How on earth do we let them win over 74%!?!?

Unfortunately, the magic wand that would go a long way toward fixing all of this is Sean Couturier, who is out until February at best.

Have to stop the bleeding Tuesday at Columbus because I expect to get steamrolled by Boston in the following game.

We got out Flyers the last three games. We play better and lose. Maybe its time to go back to playing worse so we can win again.

This is not surprising. We all knew we werent going to be in first place after 15 games so we gotta take the bad with the good. If we get 3 of 4 points in our next two we will be right next to a wild card spot if not in a wild card spot. Who would've thought that was possible just 6 weeks ago.
Even though we are losing at least we are playing half decent. With the talent we have we should be in last place. It would be nice to have another full line out there that we are missing (Couts JVR Atkinson) but cant cry over spilled milk. Keep the feet moving and beat Columbus next game.

I have adopted a new approach to mood being influenced by sport outcomes. I used to need a “trifecta” over the weekend. Wins by flyers, browns and boilermakers. I have come to the realization that was stupid. So now I have adopted a “uni-fecta”. Any one win makes me happy. boilers beat Illinois, so I’m happy.

See - it’s all about adjusting to life to have a happy life.
