This is laughably false

He’s a huge upgrade as a slight plus vs two big minuses at pg
Defensively, sure but overall he isn't much of an upgrade. Not for the fact you have him for another year. To put it a different way, this isn't a move that puts them over the hump. VanVleet does.

Because Leonard wants him and Ballmer will try and keep him happy.
He also included VanVleet ...he is only 28. Lowry is better defensively but he isn't worth it overall. Lowry isn't the defender he once was as well.

That was highway robbery.

Just a shameful no call.
If you are talking about the Lakers - then I would point out that they also won a few games in the last two weeks based on the same thing - but in there - you live by the sword, you die by the sword - so in this case the Lakers are head in them game - as they have lost less games due to no calls -

Toronto isn't going to give away Van Vleet. They will want a pick or 2 for him.

That no-call was one of the worst I've seen. Stuff like that shouldn't be happening in the NBA.

I think now that Turner has signed an extension......Rob is trying to make a deal for Hield but he'd holding out on the pick being unprotected.

Trading the picks to wash makes it hard to put protections on them now

I already laid out a trade for Van Vleet with a pick included. You give up more but worth it. LAC has a log jam of guards/wings

Kennard or Roco, Boston Jr., Coffee and a future 1st for VanVleet

Yeah they would need to give up one of those future picks, unprotected. If LA hasn't done it by now I doubt they do it. They could make salary work. I think after the Rui acquisition, a Hield trade would be huge for LA.

And with the way the trade market is right now......Toronto probably going to want a couple picks for VV.

Rob is trying to go the cheaper route than Hield but he needs to give it up and go get him.

Doubt it. They will take young players and a pick. LA has a couple young players that could be on interest. One unprotected pick should do it.

They will get plenty of picks for OG and Siakam if they were to deal him, unlikely.

Interesting bit on Turner's extension - he's still trade eligible

Turner remains trade-eligible despite renegotiating and extending his contract. This is because the extension doesn’t extend his current contract beyond three years (including this one), and he didn’t receive raises larger than five percent. While a trade seems unlikely after coming to terms, this deal could significantly increase his trade value ahead of the deadline. More buyers could emerge with Turner no longer set to become a free agent and extended at a very reasonable rate.

They were just trying to get that cap hit into Russ territory. His cap hit is now like $35M this year I believe

They were below the salary floor so they turned a 2 year deal into one where they were able to spread the money over 3 years

Sure, but he is also older and less of an upgrade. Makes no sense. VanVleet is another guy that can consistently get you 20/night. He will get more open looks in LA and he is 8 years younger.
He can get you 20 a night on a marginal team that needs some one to shoot the basketball. In LA he’s a third option and a stand still jump shooter.
