Nuggets/76ers today.

Should be a helluva game. Hope everyone is playing on both sides.
Here is the injury report on the ESPN app. I think Embiid is playing. Jokic has had a hamstring thing that has kept him out of 3 of the last 4 but he’s not listed on this. Embiid has a questionable tag because of his foot but I think he likely plays.

I wouldn't immediately call that a certainty. He's happy in LA and if the team plays their cards right and figures out a better Hachimura deal, they would certainly have the cap space to offer him a better deal.

It'll be interesting. He has definitely earned himself a raise.

It could be a situation like Monk where he's willing to give the Lakers a discount, but the question would be...how much? Monk ended up getting an offer that was more than he was willing to give up. The same could happen with Bryant.

No.

You will have 33 million-ish.

Take off the roster spots, it goes down to 23 ish.

Say Rui gets 10, that leaves you 13 mil.

But, you also gotta pay Reaves.

That’s where you need to make a decision.

Because, people are saying he’s getting more than you balked at giving Caruso.

You good with that?

According to The Athletic's Jovan Buha, Reaves could be looking for a contract that pays him around $10 million or more per season. “'From what I've heard on that, it's going to be more than Caruso money, that's for sure,' Buha said. 'It's going to be double digits.
Can't we go over to pay him though?

Yes.

But, they will have to pay the tax.

Because the Lakers possess Reaves's Early Bird rights, L.A. can sign Reaves, one of the team's own incumbent free agents, to a deal without worrying about its impact on the team's salary cap, Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors notes. Reaves's two-year non-standard rookie scale deal will make him a restricted free agent, but thanks to the Gilbert Arenas provision in the current CBA, the Lakers can match any deal tendered to Reaves should they so choose.

Essentially, assuming Los Angeles is open to paying into the luxury tax, it can keep Austin Reaves. But will it?

Y’all forgot a step.

He bolted because you offered it to Kyrie.

Dude played for the minimum.

He wasn’t going to wait around for the money to dry up.

Last offseason was a little bit of a clusterfuck for the Lakers. They had their hopes set on Kyrie so much, they just ended up getting minimums again.

Did a good job getting younger, but that was about it.

I'm intrigued to see how Hachimura pans out for them. I think it was a great trade, personally. Especially for Nunn who's been pretty disappointing.

Tell him to sit tight while they do FA shopping and then resign him....think we did that a few years ago with some of the guys we waned to keep...

Yeah, Hach was a steal and he's a promising youngster with upside.

We needed his size.

I don’t Blair them for waiting on Kyrie.

Could you imagine getting his 27 ppg production for 6.5 mil?

I have liked Rui since Gonzaga.

Worth the risk for the marketing gains alone.

Purple and Gold everywhere in Japan.

Right, which is why @Shaqdaddy11 is saying you can possibly keep Bryant, as long as you don’t make a trade that eats up all your cap, or he isn’t willing to play for the room exception.

I think you can likely keep Reaves and one of Walker and Bryant, not both.

But, is that a successful offseason?

Cant lose that Westbrook salary slot…imo
