I mean that last part is just semantics

They had a prearranged trade worked out and they did it like that because the stepien rule. Under NFL rules you would not have been the one who picked Bridges.
Sure....concede on the semantics.

Now tell me how the Clippers could have traded for George excluding SG-A?

We had the 12th and 13th pick in the Shai draft.

Should the Thunder have accepted Robinson instead?

Oh, wait...

He's already out of the league.

Maybe Wilson Chandler and Gortat?

Oh, they are gone too.

It's easy to say they should have been able to keep him.

But, looks like it's difficult to actually provide any facts to back up that statement.

Leonard wanted George.

He didn't care if it was in LA or Toronto.

Unfortunately, Toronto was smarter than the Clippers.

George and Leonard wanted to play together, and George and his agent, CAA's Aaron Mintz, approached Thunder general manager Sam Presti in recent days and requested a trade, league sources said. Leonard's message to Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and president of basketball operations Lawrence Frank was essentially this: Get George, and you'll get me.

In a wild night of negotiations, Presti leveraged the Clippers and Raptors off each other, preying on the uncertainties of what the other might be willing to give Oklahoma City for the chance to secure Leonard and George -- and perhaps the inside track on a championship.

Had Presti been able to strike a deal for George with the Raptors -- and Leonard was willing to stay -- George was believed to be willing to join the Raptors too, sources said

How?

Do you think Presti would have settled for Lou Williams and Trezl?

Lmao

Clippers got hoodwinked.

But, not necessarily because of George.

Steep ass price at the time.

But, on par with Gobert, Dejounte Murray and Mitchell...

Davis and Jrue Holiday....too.

But, Lakers and Bucks got rings.

George is not the problem.

It's Kawhi.

Yep. Folks tend to have selective memories.

Teams were willing to pay pretty much whatever it took to get Kawhi and/or PG.

The Clippers got them, and folks started predicting rings.

Now that it hasn't worked out that way...folks want to act like they weren't wanting their team to do whatever was necessary to get them. Or weren't making the same predictions for the Clips.

Yep.

Again: Bad trade now that could be a horrific trade in a few more years.

But, people have to kinda grade this on the curve because of the futility of this franchise.

Kawhi was the biggest free agent signing in Team history.

No player on his level has even considered coming to this team.

They had to take their shot.

Sadly, they had a clip full of blanks.

Nets are similarly fucked.

That's what happens when you take shortcuts and sign unreliable players.

Doesn't matter if it's physically, Kawhi, or mentally, Kyrie.

Not only that…

While SGA had a really nice rookie year,

Nobody in their right mind would project he would become the player he is today.

Where is Wiggy?

Want to hear more about how bad the Knicks are.
The NBA is game to game. Cavs are awful on the road and Allen out. I was expecting this to be an ugly game. Both teams look awful so far
