All of the comments about the Lakers in the last two pages are pretty much on point. The Lakers are a team built around two former superstars: One getting too old to carry the team: Another one that can't stay healthy. Pelinka does what he is told. IMO, the Lakers really should begin entertaining deals to move both of them while getting the most draft capital and better shooters in those transactions. Sort of what Danny Ainge has been doing. The writing is on the wall.

The Lakers FO has no direction and fore-thought as to what they want to accomplish in any direction this year and so they are in free-fall AGAIN. win a championship is usually the standard answer but they have the wrong people who consistently know how to build a team for that goal. There is a good chance the Lakers will be 0-8 in the next 4 games. They can play great D but ALL of them can't shoot to save their own skin.

An evaluation of the status of the team has been promised around ten games in. What are the Lakers planning on doing? Nobody really knows. You can draw your own conclusions.

BTW, on game night, I am usually over on the Lakers 2022-2023 Season thread. I may be getting older but I am a couple decades away from the Eighth decade of life. I did think that was a funny comment though, lol.

I can't speak for all Lakers fans but when a team fires a coach, hires another one, re-works the roster with younger players and still accomplishes what they did last year, well that is the classical definition of insanity. Ham has drastically improved the D, but little else has been fixed.

What is for sure is what is ailing this team has not been fixed and probably won't be for quite some time to come. So making the same comments repeatedly without any changes on the subject becomes a pointless activity and it is probably the reason regular Lakers fans just go do other more important things for now.

their depth is so bad its ridiculous.

I just cant fathom how bad Pelinka is.

Walker Jr., Reeves, Toscano-Anderson, Damian Jones, Patrick Beverly are your role players? Its so bad. There has not been one guy they have developed in 3-4 years that they can rely on for real minutes. There has not been any cheap free agent beside Monk that they brought in that over-achieved and gave them something to depend on.

Not true. There is one guy they developed over the last 3 to 4 years. Problem is he plays for the Bulls right now because Jeanie Buss is a cheapass

League should look into that bullshit! Hahahaha!

Lauri M is over here dunking all over peeps, still putting out a quality product so far.

Say the Jazz miss out on ole’ Vicky boy.

Henderson, and one of the Thompson Twins… Great start to their rebuild.

Props to Ainge and that highway robbery of a trade for Gobert.

Oh wait! I forgot! :laugh3:

Somebody earlier suggested trading AD.

They won't do it.

But, that guy will never be healthy.

Backs generally get worse with age.

I would've traded both but after LBJ extension go with AD

You just can't win with this build. It's not gonna happen.

If Lebron gets injured they have the worst roster in the league.

The 07 Cavs were not a good core but I'd still take 6 or 7 guys off their squad after AD before I'd take any player on LA

The recent Cavs still had kyrie and Love. And about 7 other dudes I'd take after AD and before another player on LA.

A prime me would get destroyed by a washed up lebron. Does that mean I am not in my prime or that lebron is not washed up?

I’m not sure they get a top 5 pick right now but it’s a long season. Their cast of handful of good players is working for them. Orlando is a team that could get Victor and that is scary. Wagner, Banchero and Victor is pretty nasty. I’m not sure what Suggs is at this point but that team is extremely young right now.

Banchero is what Jabari Parker SHOULD’VE been, without any major injuries.

Wagner is a BEAST!

Wtf happened to Suggs?

If ole’ Vicky boy is added to that core, then look out! Of course you could say that with any young core because Vicky boy is a FREAK and shouldn’t be allowed to play in the NBA because he’s some kind of alien.

If lakers want to make anything of their season they will need to pull the trigger on one of these trades very soon because this roster is not it
New Orleans has the right to swap picks with the Lakers too.

If LeBron or Davis get injured- or if they dont make a move- the Pelicans could get a pretty nice pick in the upcoming draft.

Imagine if that pick is like 9th in the lotto and becomes Wembanaya
