I don’t fully understand how it works. But not only do the dubs lower their mark for this season, but if this trade gets them below a threshold, it does effect the tax for future seasons as well.

My understanding of the NBA system is limited, though. I trust you understand it better than I.

they would need to get under the cap to re-set the repeater tax--- and with Wiggins, Poole, Curry, Draymond, Klay- it aint happenin.

Well now we really get to see if he develops. Warriors ended up being just a terrible fit for him. Injuries, then no playing time because of the Championship window. Now he gets to go to Detroit, make mistakes and see if he can do something.
