They should. He played 9 seasons for them and was a key piece to their title run.

Heck, they retired Nate Thurmonds number and he only played two seasons for them averaging 5 points and 6 rebounds

I think retiring Thurmond's number was more about where he was from than his averages as a Cav. Before the team moved to downtown Cleveland in the mid 90's they played at Richfield Coliseum. It was about 20 miles away from his hometown of Akron.
