I don’t mind it from the lakers pov if they’re start hunting because they will be able to trade 3 firsts starting right after the draft (including their 2023 pick)

So they can actually make a better offer with a similar expiring contract to Russ

Plus Harris is a better player and fit than Russ right now

They’d have kork and Jones and some seconds left to cobble together another bench player they’d…actually want to use

I’m really surprised the nets didn’t get one of them

Should've. Salaries too small to flip maybe? Strange, doesn't invoke much confidence in the Nets making good moves. They seemed more intent on sending him away from the Suns and Lakers and getting it done quickly, didn't fuss over compensation value too much.

Yeah the nets really just took a lesser offer to keep him off a real contender

It's a last option kind of move done at 3pm though, not on Tuesday. Absolutely no need for Korkmaz.

True, but it gives you another expiring contract next year with Jones to make another add. Whether in July or December

I just don’t think the pistons do it without a first

There are picks involved, likely mostly from Philadelphia (2029 first, multiple seconds). Doesn't sound like enough, they wanted a first for Bog alone.

I don’t think the Sixers have anything to give other than their 2029 1st. Plus one of the two the Lakers can give and that’s 2 picks. 1 pick for taking on Westbrook’s deal and 1 for Bogdanovic.

Lakers will definitely have to send a first for the Pistons taking the Westbrook deal.

Then there's no point in taking this deal for the Lakers really. They could get better fits elsewhere using a 1st.
I doubt it or it would have happened already. It’s going to cost them a 1 to shed Westbrook.

Nothing has happened yet, other than the Kyrie surprise lol. As we get closer to the deadline things will shake loose. Lakers have been talking with multiple teams and everyone is waiting on the Raptors to decide their path.

Not my first choice as a deal but you explained why it isn't a bad deal....

They’ve been doing that since July.

They easily could've pushed for more though, IMO. They had no problem doing so with the Lakers...
Most people think the Mavs gave too much. I don't think they give one up those two no matter what the Nets asked
