It is a tough question

He is a good player and a valuable one.

But these teams start getting themselves into serious cap hell when they are paying their role players what they are actually worth.

Is Grant Williams worth half Jayson Tatum?

I say no.

But that is what the market is willing to pay.

After I posted that comment I thought about it a little more. I've changed my mind. I agree with what you said.

I was really only taking into consideration how he fits in with the team and nothing beyond that.

And mentioning cap hell, great point. I don't pay attention to cap numbers so don't take that into consideration.

It said the pg was 5th on the depth chart.

That’s the question I was asking

Schroder, Russ, Bev, Christie. Reaves and Walker also play guard, but may be listed as forwards. Also have Pippen as a 2-way.

@Mecca
Dude, I am starting to see Lowry mentioned.

If they add another broken toy, I’m packing it up for the season.

Conley, yes.

Vanfleet, hell yes.

Rubio, sure.

Id rather have D’Lo than Lowry.

I will walk if it’s Kyle.

Christie is not a pg. neither is reaves

I’m curious if the lakers are really gonna roll with those other 3 as their pgs

Van Vleet would be a great add. Conley a nice backup and nice fit.
Rubio is on a multi-year deal and isn’t going anywhere imo
Taking Lowry would be a favor to Miami and would be an awful move

I disagree because they wouldn’t be sending much back to Miami

Which is why I wonder why Miami would do it

Your posts are confusing. The one you were questioning was 5th guard, not 5th PG, which I originally pointed out. I believe the original intent was to identify Nunn as the 5th guard depth-wise, not 5th PG.

Schroder is the starting PG. Bev is listed as a PG, but is a combo guard at best (and could be moved in another trade). Russ comes off the bench as the backup PG (could also still be moved). Pippen is a PG that has barely seen game time yet and isn't ready for meaningful minutes yet.

If Russ is moved, Lakers will need to either have a PG included in that move or pick up a free agent. Lakers don't rely heavily on a PG (at least offensively) since Lebron is often the de facto playmaker regardless of position.

31 points and 14 rebounds is really good but nothing close to Shaq, Kareem, and Wilt territory.

That's not what I said.

Thomas Bryant put up numbers against Portland that only Shaq, Kareem and Wilt put up previously.

If you're going to be looking at a small sample size, like you did with Kyrie, then anything is possible.

@shopson67

Remember all that shit I said yesterday?

* flush *

Jones is poo poo.

Bu, you might be right about the pick compensation.

Lakers could move Walker for Reddish, since they are unlikely to be able to keep him beyond this season depending on their cap situation after the trade deadline. They need to pay Bryant first IMO. Maybe it becomes a 2 for 2 trade, although I'm not sure who else the Lakers would want on the cheap end of the Knicks roster, other than maybe Sims (who likely isn't very available). Quickley has been mentioned as on the block?

Bev's contract would be needed for a potential Richardson trade (or with Walker for a Bog trade).
