Unsavory shit.

This years race was similar to last years.

Like Mobley, Banchero was a monster right out of the gate.

But, faded a bit down the stretch.

Williams came on strong a few months in , just like Scottie, and looked like he’d make a race of it.

All the talking heads predicted it would be Mobley.

But, when all the votes were counted…..

You know what…

Now that I’m thinking about it….

Williams is Cade.

Reminds me of when Shaq came within 1 vote of being a unanimous MVP. Seems like there's always got to be the 1 homer or the one who thinks "no one should be unanimous".

And yeah, if you're going to be "that guy", at least vote for someone who belongs in the convo.

I like these age appropriate freshman, not ones who are 20 or going to be 20 this year
I honestly expect the Clippers to blow it up.

I would prefer a total demolition.

Keep Bones and Mann and start over.

But, they can’t, unless George and Kawhi can recoup draft assets.

So, it will be a retool, most likely.

We have the last pick of the 1st round.

Still, I’m looking at top 20 guys, just in case.

Wouldn’t mind taking a flyer on Emoni Bates with our 2nd rounder if Eddy is gone.

I hate the Lakers.

But, that really pissed me off when it happened.

He should have been the 1st unanimous MVP.

That would have been a nice little feather in his historical cap.

He earned it.

Go ahead and find a big for the Thunder while you are at it. You did great last year!

I told you the Thunder was getting #2….lol

I think you get a big in free agency or via trade.

Capela, Claxton.

Wood at the very least.

Would love it if you could get Okongwu.

Yeah, it sucks because getting Kawhi and PG was the first time in their history that I can recall the Clips taking the "big swing" to try to compete directly with the Lakers.

But how many seasons can you go thinking "okay, this is the year they stay healthy enough to make that deep run"?

Might be time to shop Kawhi and PG. You're likely not going to get back what you paid...but you'll get more than if you eventually just let them walk as FA's.

So far, it’s near unanimous.

Really gross that the dissenting vote was for Kessler, not Williams.

At the same time...not sure Banchero has earned a unanimous selection. It's just the right year for him. If he is a rookie last year, he likely finishes 3rd behind Barnes and Mobley. He's just here at the right time.

Random thought related to numbers…

Clippers getting snuffed early.

So, I’m already in draft research mode.

I was looking at the Thompson Twins numbers and it is kinda freaky how close they are.

Weird ass twin s

I don’t see a blow up until those guys are gone

You have a lot of mid tier salaries and a first so you can make a move to add a key player. To me it’s still a pg

Bones hasn’t earned the right to not have competitors at young future pg spot

Yup.

It’s time.

You can’t expect Ballmer to keep burning money by the barrel for a 1st round out.

They can’t stay healthy.

They tried and it didn’t work.

Can’t keep beating your head against the same wall.

We will see come the Summer.

Rich people don’t stay rich by burning hundreds of millions of dollars, with little return.

…..and that is what Ballmer is doing with this teams payroll and taxes.

Agree.

My issue is with WHO got the vote.

Santa Clara Williams?

I wouldn’t have said shit, even if I had a mouth full of it.

And now that you have an owner who seems like he's willing to spend what is necessary to compete for titles, I doubt a rebuild would take more than a couple of seasons, if that.

Heck, if they time it right, they may have their rebuild complete right about the time the Lakers are starting one.
