He doesn’t have to be. He’s no worse than James Harden or Steph Curry and they also have won MVP’s before even though they are often below average-downright bad on Defense(Steph has 2 MVP’s).

Take a look at the Bucs record without Giannis, and the Sixers record without Embiid, and the Nuggets record without Jokic this year, you’ll find only one team is under .500 without their Star meaning guess who is a more valuable player?
