I said this at the time of the trade but either way the Mavs weren’t true contenders. Finney-Smith was a solid piece and great compliment to Luka but Dinwiddie was just a short-term piece. They were a better TEAM but they still weren’t contenders. Seems all hell broke loose now but that was the risk

They lost to the Hornets last game too, no Rozier and Oubre again. Kyrie hasn’t been playing well. At least the Mavs will clear cap space and/or return from Kyrie trade.

Remember when some of the talking heads said that the Mavs were contenders when they got Kyrie?

Exactly. If memory serves, prior to a couple of months ago he graded out as a possible late 2nd round or unsigned FA. Apparently, that has changed and it looks like he could be a one and done.

As you point out, if he gets there and struggles, that would change things considerably.
I try so hard not to like you.

But, you make it virtually IMPOSSIBLE.

We can all be a bit homerific….

We all have hills we insist on dying on.

But, GAWDDAMMIT……

You are way more rational than I was led to believe a diehard Laker fan was capable of being.

Stop it.

It”s fucking unnerving.

Yeah it just seems he never can be the final piece. His best bet was staying in BKN and he blew it. I still think the best thing for him is to join LA and Lebron but I also believe LA would be better staying away

The sanity of a GM that gave him more than a one year contract would have to be questioned.

Kyrie, Powell, Bullock, Green and Holliday combined 13 points 3-19. Gotta be frustrating for Luka

Something is wrong with @DJ ….lol

He acts as if the decision is Bron and Bronny’s and the rest of the NBA is just going to submit.

I haven’t seen anything that says one and done will be changed this year.

So, Bronny is going to college or to overtime elite.

If he doesn’t fair well against tougher competition, who is drafting him could be a moot point.

Not true actually.

Assuming LeBron doesn’t fall off a cliff next year…

Any wanna be contender should be willing to spend a late 1st on Bronny to get a year or 2 of LeBron.

Almost doesn’t matter if Bronny is good enough.

But if he is, as latest reports seem to claim?

Then he is even more valuable.

Says you.

I think differently.

….as explained in the multitude of posts hours ago,

Agree to disagree.
