Just glancing over it, it sounds like Kyrie is on that Farrakhan Nation of Islam bullshit. They still have influence over several athletes and other black celebrities. They typically keep it more quiet and subtle than Kyrie though. I think Jaylon Brown might be on the Farrakhan bullshit too. Fwiw, I'm not speaking out about Islam as a religion. I'm talking about that garbage Louis Farrakhan puts out. That's just racism and wacked out conspiracies wearing a pretend Islam costume.
Right.

There is a difference between Religion and Radicals.

I can only speak from my perspective…

But, it’s not just influence over Celebrities.

Black people in general will not speak out about them out of fear.

* see all those caps popped inMalcolm X’s ass.
Yeah brown is definitely a sketchy dude
I don’t get that vibe from him.

But, I haven’t really been paying attention.

Brogdon is way more outspoken….imo

He’s said some weird things

Brogdon is just an Npc who does what the party tells him to.

Just like Lebron

Orwell would be proud of them

Interpretation: "I'll tell you when I want to play". This is rapidly turning into a dog and pony show.

Ughhh....
Kyrie, WTF, dude?!?!

The demographics of that area are actually kind of interesting historically. I dug into it quite a bit for a few papers in college (my fiance at the time was taking AA history) and I was debating with the prof (who was kinda Kanye level but low key racist) about the ethnic makeup of the Moors who held Spain for a very long period of time (something almost no one talks about here in the US)

Long story short it IS an interesting topic but spinning it into a full on racist rant like the author does is unfortunate. But I don't totally disagree that it's a discussion without merit. There is definitely some white washing of the demographics of ancient Egypt and the like.

Sorry for posting that in the NBA forum. Any further discussion I will take it to the off topic

Agree.

But, they got one.

So, it’s worth it unless the Pelicans win more.

Still worth it even if they do.

The guys LA traded for AD would have never delivered a title.

Now, if this years’ pick somehow turns into Vic?

Different story.

But even then, the pick as so far out that you can’t use it as a reason to not do a trade that delivered a title.

Also, AD is not the reason the Lakers suck. Just not quite as good as expected.

The Lakers suck because they traded their depth for Russ. And somehow managed to not pick up a single vet min guy who can shoot

Kyrie is such a disaster.

When he was fresh out of Duke with the Cavs he was so much fun to watch. I have never seen a guy in the NBA that was so young that had already developed so much skill.

but- that obviously came at a cost- he started going crazy during LeBron 2.0 and has steadily just gotten worse.

There were rumors that he went weeks without talking to teammates in Cleveland- and that was years ago on teams that were consistently going to the NBA Finals. He is just a nut.

I want the lakers and kings winless until they face each other…

…and then monk hits a gw 3 at the buzzer
in a different realm of the metaverse the Lakers spend money and have a competent GM and are built around LeBron, Davis, DeRozan, Hield, Caruso, Monk- and they are- if not high level contenders- at least a damn good team.

part of the deficiency of this Lakers team is that LeBron really has to play the point. Schroeder should actually help when he is back. LeBron can do it obviously- but it wastes a lot of energy. At least a real NBA point guard would be able to get Davis the ball in the right spots, get Reeves the ball more, and settle the offense and get guys in more set roles.

Its basically just a free for all out there right now.

I will tell ya- while Dean Wade is never gonna get a lot of publicity or credit- he has gone from an undrafted fringe roster guy, to in his 4th season being a solid decent backup player. Not that he is anything special- but he can play some D, knows his role, can shoot the 3 and stretch the D a little. He has been pretty good thus far in the front court rotation.

Honestly- only guy that has really disappointed thus far on the Cavs is Okoro. I read a bunch of places he had a good offseason and camp but it def. has not translated yet. I will give him some time since hes just 21....but if this team is going to try and really establish themselves as a strong playoff team- he is going to have to get better if he wants playing time on a consistent basis.

Cavs have some depth

PG: Garland, Rubio (when he is back),
SG: Mitchell, Osman, (Okoro)
SF: LeVert, Okoro, Wade
PF: Mobley, Love, (Wade)
C: Allen, Lopez

those are really the 11 guys they are going to go to battle with this season. Neto, Windler, Mobley, Stevens prob. wont play a whole lot if the team is healthy- though Stevens, and Neto are not gut-wrenchingly bad in limited minutes.

Okoro is a bust. He does one thing well. Defend. You can't be a one note player. He actually has a negative per right now which is pretty remarkable.
