That could be. I think his undoing was being forced into the GM role because of Colangelo Burner gate. That leads to a whole bunch of shenanigans: trade Mikal Bridges for meh. Acquire Jimmy Butler (that was great), acquiring Tobias Harris (bad) picking Simmons over Jimmy Butler, and then after losing Butler took that money to sign Al Horford. Elton Brand was being brought along by Brown and he was given a lot of pull. His hands are all over those things.
