This notion that modern athletes are pussies is just ridiculous. Modern pro sports is played a vastly higher level than it was played 20,30, or 50 years ago. This is why pitchers are pitching fewer and fewer innings but more and more pitchers are routinely throwing the ball 100+ mph.

Today’s athletes are bigger stronger faster , absolutely, they also make a ton more of money, which I’m very happy for them, Today they are considered an investment, years ago we were work horses. PERIOD

Today’s athletes are absolutely pampered because of the money. Load mgmt, analytics , total overthinking ..

in a sense I feel sorry for them, there will be some records never broken, and new ones never set.

Having said that, I don't necessarily think that the play in tournament is a bad idea. As far as keeping fans interested, it actually seems to be working. However, I think that this was the wrong season to start it. Imo, they should have waited until next season. Last season and this season were too close together and too weird.

Having said that, I don't necessarily think that the play in tournament is a bad idea. As far as keeping fans interested, it actually seems to be working. However, I think that this was the wrong season to start it. Imo, they should have waited until next season. Last season and this season were too close together and too weird.

The NBA is doing whatever it can to maximize revenues. Which is why the vote for the play-in tournament was 30-0.

Players complaining about the play-in tournament once they think they might have to actually play in it is pretty silly.

I just don't like the idea of it. Maybe I'm old school. I like the regular playoff format. But I agree they should have waited until next season for this experiment.

I love it. What's the harm? Those 7 and 8 seed teams are never winning anything why not make it fun for the fans?
