We're talking about 2 different things but they're almost impossible to guard even with a good team defense. They can all breakdown the defense and can all shoot. They're really hard to defend. Basically just have to contest their shots and pray they miss.
My strategy as a coach would be the following
1)limit their possessions so play at a very slow pace.
2) switch everything
3) completely shutdown the role players
Let me set it up......even if I remember how.....it's been a minute.Sure, why not?
DA's and Nash's Phoenix Suns was a pretty damn good offensive team.No one is saying they aren't difficult to defend. Hell, they may be the most difficult team to defend in history because they have 3 of the most talented/prolific scorers in history.
But, they are also a very bad defensive team and NBA history has not been kind to teams that don't have a top 10 defense in the playoffs.
That's the same strategy I would use. Part of great team defense is knowing that, no matter what you do, at least one of those guys is going to go off, every single game. It's about preventing at least one and preferably 2 of those 3 from also going off on you too.
Agree that you’re never going to shut them down. At the same time, I play Simmons on KD. KD in many ways lives on being able to shoot jumpers over shorter covers. Simmons length gives them a punchers chance there. Simmons strengths get negated trying to cover Kyrie like last night. Simmons is quick...for a 6’10 guy. Kyrie is outrageously quick for any human being. The Sixers starting 5 really doesn’t have a cover for Kyrie. Maybe that guy is George Hill if he ever gets over the thumb and back for playoffs. You're never going to lock down those players down Any team who actually think they'll stop them is in for a rude awakening. The key is slowing one of them down and then exposing their weak defense. Slowing one down can be for example Harden avg 22 or so on 39% shooting

How'd that turn out?
Where the Sixers defense can exploit a matchup is the Nets lack of a 5 that can stretch the floor. They can technically play Aldridge there but Embiid would foul him out on the other end. With no one to take Embiid away from the rim the Sixers can overplay the jump shot and give away some fly by with Embiid erasing mistakes. I see you on the team defense emphasis.Wrong again. Teams aren't going to try to shut them down individually late in games. They will try to use team defense to force the ball out of their hands and force them into a tough shot.

Yep. The Nets are a better version of the Celtics. KD Harden Kyrie > Kemba Tatum Brown. Both teams are a black hole at the 5. Embiid has to be an exceptional passer in that series making good decisions when they double. Then the role players have to knock down shots.Embiid will be the key, imo. I didn't realize this until I heard it yesterday, but apparently Andre Drummond has owned the Nets all season. Embiid is a good bit better than Drummond, so a healthy, motivated Embiid would be really difficult for the Nets to handle.
I'm down for whatevers...Let me set it up......even if I remember how.....it's been a minute.
How much?
500?I'm down for whatevers...
$100 bucks?
$200?
I almost never bet in here... so I don't particularly care on that front.
I do care about the game, though.
Sure... let's dance.500?
Give me a little time to set it up....Sure... let's dance.
@trojanfan12, @ChiefsLakers67 is this what I have to look forward to?
I am getting all kinds of advice from @mick7-1961 on FB....LOL.Only if you want to be happy.
@wings-pens2166Back in Jan or Feb she was on the phone with her sister in the bedroom and I was in the living room watching TV.....
She yells out, "D------, we are going to Vegas in April for my sister's birthday."
Me: "Ok."
10 minutes later.
"D------, we are getting married when we are there."
Me:"Ok.......wait what?"
Let women get to talking and stuff happens. They figured since we're there why not go ahead and get married. In fairness, we had been talking about getting married the last few months so it wasn't a total shock, just how it happened.
@trojanfan12, @ChiefsLakers67 is this what I have to look forward to? Mecca would be cracking up over this.
