Bucks getting Tucker. Gave up an unprotected 2023. Protections probably don't matter but that's a lot for 35 year old role player.

So they have Ariza and Iguodala for 30 seconds of game time? How is that group of 5 scoring any points?

They would never play that group together for much outside of end of game situaions. His point is in a end of game situation they can throw out a damn good defensive lineup which is pretty hard to disagree with. They're not going to use a lineup like this in the middle of a quarter for several minutes.

As for your point about Ariza/Iggy, he will likely get the Crowder role which was a 3&D starter at the 4 position.. I can see him eventually in the starting lineup come playoffs so Olynyk can be used as the backup C.

Ariza is a solid addition. Good role player, good fit.

Ariza avg 11 points and shot 40% from 3 after being traded to Portland last year. Crowder avg 12 on about 45% shooting from 3 after being traded to Miami last year

Exactly what they needed since losing Jones Jr and Crowder in free agency. Problem with Kelly at the 4 is he's at a huge disadvantage when switching. Ariza will not have that issue. Fill a major gap because Moe Harmless is a really bad player

I like Crowder more at this point in their careers but Ariza a nice fit over what they had

He hasn't played in a year.

lol I really don't get why you're trying so hard to spin this like it wasn't a good move. They traded Meyers Leonard for a player who helps with probably their biggest weakness. Who cares if he didn't play in a year? It was the same story with Iggy. These guys don't forget how to play basketball. I'm sure Ariza can still guard and hit corner 3's.

I'm not really all that concerned about whether it was a good or bad move. I'm pushing back on this being some sort of coup. He'll provide some value. But it is likely to be fairly limited.

He will provide value. Very similar to what Crowder provided which wasn't exactly "fairly limited' value.

I haven't seen anyone on here who acted like this was a coup. Miami addressed their biggest weakness and likely isn't done making moves. Miami likes to size down at the 4 so that player can fit into their switching defensive scheme.

They got their original 2022 pick back fwiw.

It's sort of a lot and its sort of not. You're basically looking at it like a pick for a chance to win the title. Not that Tucker is a dramatic impact player, especially not this season as he's looked old as fuck and not close to the player he was even last year, but that he'll be the acquisition that puts the Bucks past the tipping point to make the Finals and win. All you're really hoping for out of him is he can muster enough for a couple of good player games and that'll be enough. There's not many moves they could make to improve their chances so its worth paying a little bit more to chase a title.

It isn’t a coup. It is simply a solid move that will make the Heat a little better.

Not sure why you need to push back on that.
