He definitely would. I read the article. The chances of it happening seem to be pretty slim though. Apparently, for adding that 3rd high level player, if the Lakers sign and trade Schroder, it gives them a pretty significant trade exception.

Saw another article that said the Lakers are one of several teams interested in Collin Sexton. It said that the downside would be that it would probably mean taking on Love. I'm not sure taking on Love would be such a bad thing. At least not if he's healthy.
As we get older we need this type of info....

You're just mad because you hate when people bring up when you're wrong but do it to others on here ...LOL.

Not really. Good luck finding anytime a certain poster make a comment that i bring up something irrelevant discussion that took place weeks or months ago nonstop. You literally bring up this bud and Middleton garbage nonstop. No better than Wiggy when he would bring up something about Whiteside that turnup or I said months or years prior

Well we finally know Kawhi's injury. So it was an ACL injury but just not a complete tear

No excuses. They still have more talent and had no business losing to either team.

Just acknowledging the reality that it's no longer the cake walk it used to be. So we can't just show up, roll the ball out and collect the win. Team USA actually has to pay attention now.

It's been that way for a while now. There is no excuse on Earth to lose to Nigeria.

Hopefully they've righted the ship now.

1. Can't see the link.

2. That's been building some momentum. I really like the idea.

OK then. Then something is broken with the board. It looks like its trying to read bleacher report links as a media file or something.

EDIT: Testing

Yep. That's exactly what its doing. If you just copy/paste the link, the board software is for some reason trying to treat it as a media file. But if I type out the url code, I get the above link.

So...he'll probably opt in on that player option this summer unless the Clippers want to offer him something long term.

Nah.

He may choose to opt in.

But we have seen that even when injured, players of Kawhi’s caliber command full long term supermax deals.

Most teams would offer Kawhi every Penny they could in a long term deal this summer.

What do the Lakers have that Cleveland would want though? They're going to want potential all star talent to move Sexton, although Love could drag down that value a little.

The most the Clippers can get under the cap is $6M by renouncing all free agents, so they're in S&T country just like the Lakers. The Bulls could have up to $23M available if they renounce their free agents, but I doubt they're renouncing Markkanen or Theis, and those two carry a total cap hold of nearly $30M by themselves (plus Felicio, Valentine, Temple, Green, Dotson, and Mokora are potential FA).

I honestly didn't read the whole article so I didn't see what they suggested. I'll see if I can find it and actually read the whole thing this time. I remember discussing it a week or so ago with @dtgold88 and I think @WiggyRuss and I don't remember any of us being able to come up with anything the Lakers could send that wouldn't be a version of something the Cavs already have.

For example, why would the Cavs want Kuzma, when they already have Nance?

mark isn’t that good?

ball is definitely a much better player.

you got Vuc and Thad as your starting front court anyway.

I don’t think the Lakers have a trade that makes sense there. Maybe THT, Kuzma + salary filler and multiple picks for Sexton and Love? But that is probably a reach.

Cleveland is not getting an all star talent back for Colin Sexton. His trade value isn’t on that level because of his soon to be RFA status.

Acquiring teams must factor in that they have to pay him $30 million to keep him beyond this year.

but a team who is capped out anyway might be fine with that since he’s cheap this year

clippers can throw Mann their first and second this year plus matching salaries (and eating love) to acquire him

Don’t think the Lakers can do that since tht would be a sign ans trade and you can’t combine with a sign and trade guy

I agree that teams like that will want him.

What I don’t agree with is that those teams would be willing to deal an all star caliber player to get him.

I thought they had 1 more year with THT. I did not look it up though, so I am sure you are right.

I believe he is an rfa
He will likely get a Tyler Johnson type offer and the Lakers will be able to keep him due to that awful Gilbert arenas rule
