You are missing one key point…he is forcing his way out. Will they still have to give up quite a bit, sure? But the further we get to the season, the less that price goes down. The past thing the 76ers want is an unhappy Simmons on a roster trying to compete for the East

You also seem to be forgetting another key point: the cavs aren't the only team in play here.

If Simmons comes out and says he'll only play for the cavs and nobody else, then maybe you might have a point

Him 'welcoming a trade to the cavs' surprises me.

In order to get Simmons the Cavs would have to give up at least two of their best three players, along with fillers and multiple draft picks.

This kinda move would make the cavs worse, not better.

If true agree makes better. But think one of the young studs could get it done with other parts, of course.

Man there are a lot of Cavs' fans ripping this move. You'd have to be looking to complain to be upset over it. Not just the last guy on roster but last guy on training camp roster.

Sure, we need another guard/SF but not like this move stopped that from happening.

They are setting up to trade for Simmons...hope not but it's hard to attract FA's they would need to make a big splash just not sure if that would be the move especially since the Sixers are asking for a lot

Worst case: He's on the end of your bench for very little money and is a fan favorite type player who comes in for the last few minutes of blowouts. A much younger, much taller, Jared Dudley.

Best case: The Cavs figure out a way to use him, even if only situationally, and you get a guy who can contribute a little bit for very little money and is still a fan favorite.
