I would’ve rather had Bosh.

Melo is soft and kinda lazy.

But he would’ve been better to trade for AI than Chaunc and McDiggittyDyess.

Am I nuts for thinking Garza can be a solid role dude? A month ago He wasn’t athletic enough to hang, but something changed.
Garza lost 30 lbs.

He has the skill.

He can be a situational big off the bench like a gooey , shorter version of Boban or a more skilled Taco Fall.

I think he would have scored enough that Dumars may not have pursued Rasheed which led to the title. Having Dark not work out led to the Pistons get a ring. They likely don't get it if the draft Memo.
...and Tashaun Prince would have had his ass glued to the bench.

He played great defense in the Finals.

How dare you call Boban a freakshow. That man is a treasure to be shared with the world!
Hey, he can contribute.

But I’m actually entertaining the idea that Garza could matter.

Favorite draft, of my life.

If he’s better than Livers, we’re gonna win a playoff series in the next few years.

Im not asking for the moon here.

This is the third decade you’ve crushed my “what if” dreams. With your, well, logic.

lol

Gotta hand it to ya, ya found a way to turn drafting Darko into a positive.
It's true though. If they picked anyone else at #2 they would have been getting enough production at the trade deadline they likely would have just rolled with their chances going into the playoffs. Being weak in the middle made them move on 'Sheed. No-one could have predicted how well he and Ben paired together on the defensive end. But look at their record down the stretch after the trade and especially the opponents scores. If Darko hadn't been a bust, or they draft anyone else they don't have the 2004 ring. It was worth it.

Poor man's Brad Miller IMO.

Liked the selection.
