You can extend a guy up to like 120% of his current salary in year 1.

if he went to fa he’d be able to get more.

some of the NBA rules are dumb, this is one of them lol
Gotcha. And, yes, I agree...pretty dumb. If he blew up and had a monster season or seasons they could keep him, but likely would have to wait until he hit FA?

Have seen another article saying that was most Cs could offer. Anyone know why?
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the deal is worth $77 million over the next four years — the maximum amount Smart is allowed to earn based on his previous salary. Smart will not have a player option on the final year of his deal

He got a payday in between Lonzo and Derrick White.

Sounds reasonable in those terms.

Just a few mil more than Beverley, who now plays for he Timberpups?

Harsh....lol
Yep and he is much a better player than Pat Bev. Also, better than White and Lonzo imo but that is debatable. But I also am not a big fan of Smart and Lonzo is a true PG

Yeah, I am clueless about the salary cap.

Sounds like one of those Arenas rules type situations. But, he's not on a rookie deal.

Yep, Smart has never really been a true point, but he's worked at it.

What do you think about Pat Bev to the Wolves?

Is he the Rubio replacement?

Who starts next year, Edwards or Beasley?

both should start

and I don’t mind it. They took 2 non rotation guys and turned it into Beverly, who might be one if he’s not toast
