I don't see them being able to put together a package for Dame. The fact he may want to play there means nothing to Portland
Yeah I'll go to Boston before I think about NY if I'm Portland

Big number for a man with injury history but fuck it. Dude is the franchise anyway and should be paid as such. Now they have to do right by the Ben Simmons transaction so that he doesn’t want out before the end of this jawn.
I have to think the Simmons situation was discussed prior to him signing the extensionBig number for a man with injury history but fuck it. Dude is the franchise anyway and should be paid as such. Guessing someone has addressed this but how is that right? would think it's either not a max or it's a lot more than 77 mil, right? I'm guessing the former...it's correct, but not a max.
I'd be far more impressed if he hit a free throw.
I would say this is about right for the Lakers and Warriors, but only if the geriatric ward in LA stays healthy. If the Ws do and the Lakers have any key injuries Ws got this.
Also, in the playoffs maybe the Westbrook concept won't work as well...but there's a LOT of the story still to be written
they need one more smart level piece.
I really wish they landed Lonzo ball.

@Gman ?
He got less than Ball.....and I think I'd take Smart over Ball.....even though Ball has improved his outside shooting a lot.I disagree with most of yall. This isn't that good of a deal. It's moveable, but its an overpay for what he is. It's not an egregious one, but its still an overpay. He's more like a 9 to 12 mil dollar player. I also think Smart is a tad overrated to what his actual impact on the game actually is.
Maximum they could give him, I believe.Guessing someone has addressed this but how is that right? would think it's either not a max or it's a lot more than 77 mil, right? I'm guessing the former...it's correct, but not a max.
@Gman ?
extension rules are very different than fa rules
For him it was.Clearly not a max deal, right?
He got a payday in between Lonzo and Derrick White.I disagree with most of yall. This isn't that good of a deal. It's moveable, but its an overpay for what he is. Right? Seems like at least a year and $100 mil short.Clearly not a max deal, right?

I'd take Ball.
But, not by much.
Age and temperament tips the scale.

Same injury as Kawhi, right?Big number for a man with injury history but fuck it. Dude is the franchise anyway and should be paid as such. Now they have to do right by the Ben Simmons transaction so that he doesn’t want out before the end of this jawn.
You can extend a guy up to like 120% of his current salary in year 1.You can extend a guy in his rookie deal far more than that but not Smart, who is in his second deal?
Almost certain reporter screwed up and that was not a max deal....far from it. ......Which is fine, of course.
