Reaching the Finals but not winning it isn't considered success. How many parades are held for coming in second place?

Additionally, the East was extraordinarily weak during that time. You place that same Cavs team in todays East and they don't even come close to four straight Finals appearances.
Continuing going to the Finals means your a top franchise at that time, yes it is success and they won one as well. Again, that was a dominate four years. It doesn't matter what COULD have happened, they went to 4 straight plain and simple. Not too many teams can say they did that, that in itself says it all.

Really doesn’t matter, careers are short. Get with the program or ship out. I have to think there have been countless conversations with teammates about it all.

I am sure there have been.

And yet, you still don’t throw a teammate under the bus when he is struggling with confidence. It is a selfish move that accomplishes nothing.

It would have been in the best interest of Embiid and the 6ers to answer that question differently.

Maybe, and maybe this was the tipping point where everyone said screw it he’s never going to get it. This ain’t intramurals right?

Maybe.

But if the result is Simmons destroying his own trade value by breaking communication with the team,

That doesn’t help Embiid get what he wants.

The better play would have been to be publicly supportive, then go to Morey + ownership and say look, you got to get me a better #2.

I'm not denying the Cavs were a top franchise at the time, i'm denying the fact that despite the amount of luck they got given in the draft and the fact that they had one of the best players to ever play the game, that the Cavs had what Wiggy called "extraordinary success"

He is definitely past his prime.

Prime LeBron there was no debate as to who the best player on the planet was.

I am pretty sure now if you took a poll, most would answer with a name other than LeBron.

He is still a great player, but definitely past his prime.

Yeah, he can still be the best player on the planet...he just has to pick his spots now and those spots where he can are getting to be fewer.

Between the ears. Embiid still isn’t that mature. He should have been thrown out for that skirmish with Gallinari…
He seems to rent space between your ears for free.

That little skirmish? A tech was appropriate. Thown out; No.

So, he may not be the most mature; he's still one of the best players on the planet and better than anyone on either of the two teams that you root for. His game definitely has substance.

You have issues man.

Philly set up their rebuild in an ideal way that I wish the Wizards would try. Much better than aspiring to be mediocre which is how most teams build and how the Wizards have always built.

Since Hinkie left, they have made at least half a dozen mistakes squandering assets and are still one of the better teams in the league.

I doubt they win a ring at this point.
Tobias Harris was not a mistake. He’s a shoe-in to make my top 50 list next month and I’d love to have him on the Nuggets as opposed to the money we gave Barton and the two J-Greens.

Too bad I’m just a 33-year old white guy working dietary. He still should have beaten Atlanta regardless of what was around him.
Maybe, but you can't hang the whole team's issues on just Embiid. That's like blaming LeBron for not winning a finals in his first stint with Cleveland, Shaq for not winning until he had Kobe, Jordan without Pippin. I thought you understood it was a team game. When Simmons, their second best player, dissappears and the Hawks are playing at a level 3 levels above their usual he can't do it alone; no one could.

I didn’t say Tobias Harris was a mistake did I? He would be fine as a number 3.

But, when you have as much cap space as the 6ers did, they could have gotten a legit star. And with Simmons’ regression, they need a legit star to pair with Embiid.

Poor guy

Shroder is a guy that I would like to have coming off the bench to lead a second squad and sometimes give rest to the point with the first squad. He's not a guy I'm going to be happy with as the starter or paying starter money.
