Trae didn’t even shoot very good in Game 7. Atlanta won that series in spite of endless injury woes. You would think an MVP candidate like Embiid would find a way to get his team to the ECF.
You just hate the guy because he emasculates the Pacers every time he matches up with them.

That is not it at all.

He is pissed because everybody threw him under the bus publicly after their loss to the Hawks.

Yeah, it was basically his fault and he played like garbage.

But, a good teammate would be supportive in that moment. Embiid wasn’t.

I kind of see it as similar to Shaq/Kobe. Kobe always came into camp in shape and having added something to his game. Shaq, would "play himself into shape". Kobe eventually got tired of it and spoke out publicly.

How many seasons has Embiid worked at getting better in the off-season, just to see Simmons come back as the same guy he was the season before and the season before that, etc.?

I believe in "keeping that shit in the locker room", but I completely understand why guys might get frustrated with it and speak out.

Embiid’s history should have gotten him ejected for the Gallinari play. If I’m jealous of anything as a Pacers fan it’s because I had to deal with Ron Artest ejections/suspensions with regards to the “repeat offender” treatment.

Oh, I get why Embiid said it. Still doesn’t make it a good decision.

But people here a falsely attributing Simmons’ lack of communication with the team as him saying he doesn’t want to get better.

He isn’t communicating with the team because he doesn’t want to play in Philly anymore.

Dude.

He beat up a fan in the stands.

It doesn’t matter what the history is, a player does that today and they get the same or more.

That was sooooooooo long ago. Let it go 'Cane, you'll feel much better (And they weren't winning the Championship that year anyhow, regardless of what you believe).

Shroder is a guy that I would like to have coming off the bench to lead a second squad and sometimes give rest to the point with the first squad. He's not a guy I'm going to be happy with as the starter or paying starter money.

He's a fantastic bench player. He's proven that by being in the running for 6th Man plenty of times.

And there's also nothing wrong on betting on yourself.

But he got arrogant. He got offered $84m, and he wanted at least $100m. There was also no "Thanks for the offer and I hope it'll still stand but I want to see what the free agency market looks like". If he was at least partially open to being a little flexible he would now have a starting role on one of the championship favorites while earning $20m+ per year guaranteed, instead of having to beg for a MLE to come off the bench.

Yeah, he's been communicating to them for years that he doesn't want to get better. You're right that this is about Embiid. I'd add that it's about Doc too. I forget exactly what Doc said, but it wasn't exactly a vote of confidence.

Simmons reaction to it may be part of why they're having trouble moving him. The asking price is too high, but him pouting and not appearing to take any responsibility for his play, isn't helping either.

Yeah, they both called him out.

When the head coach and superstar player put him on blast publicly, that probably made Simmons angry enough to work his ass off so he can beat them once he gets traded.

To me, he and Reggie Jackson are pretty much the same guy. Reggie just re-signed with the Clips for $22M for 2 years.

Its true they pretty much are.

But Reggie Jackson knows he’s Reggie Jackson. Schroder thinks he’s Magic Johnson

Reggie Jackson should have gotten more money. In today's nba, him and dennis should be worth 15-18 mill yearly

Whoever he goes to will certainly hope so.

That's why I have very little sympathy for him. What the Lakers offered him was an overpayment and he turns it down because he thinks he should be even more overpaid.

Either he, his agent or both, badly missed on his value.
