James is no longer in his prime. Still very good but not the James of 4-5 years agp.

I disagree that LeBron's past his prime. Here are his number with the Lakers.

18-19: 27.4 / 8.5 / 8.3 / .510%

19-20: 25.3 / 7.8 / 10.2 / .493%

20-21: 25.0 / 7.7 / 7.8 / .513%

You mentioned 4-5 years ago. Well here are his stats from the '15-'16 season. 25.3 / 7.4 / 6.8 / .520%. Pretty similar wouldn't you say?

It's not just numbers.

Watching him....he isn't nearly as explosive as he used to be. Its called the eye test.

Ironically, the only thing that made Cleveland relevant was the lottery luck of having the number 1 pick in the same year that the best player of his generation entered the draft. It’s pretty funny to me that you’re bemoaning lottery luck when in the end that’s really the only thing that’s made Cleveland anything of note.
I guess I am bemoaning it in a way- but I am perfectly aware of the lottery luck Cleveland received pre-this rebuild---- even if the drafting at certain points was less than stellar.

Interest may be one thing tlance, but to complete it with a signing is quite another. Simmons and Schroeder are def in the latter condition for sure.

Simmons is under contract.

Totally different situation.

If he sits out the season it will be because he refuses to play in Philly and Philly won’t trade him.

I don’t see that happening.

This dude is entering the same league-concluded expelled landscape as Schroeder. I would not be surprised if both Schroeder and Simmons do not play in the NBA this year. Nobody appears to be interested.
Boston offered Dennis a 1 year deal at the MLE.

He is definitely past his prime.

Prime LeBron there was no debate as to who the best player on the planet was.

I am pretty sure now if you took a poll, most would answer with a name other than LeBron.

He is still a great player, but definitely past his prime.

That too

Schroeder will get a contract.

Just not anything close to what he was asking for.

Simmons is basically telling everyone that no one is going to make him change his game.

He has a high basketball IQ and will post numbers because he is very smart and knows how to play despite aging

We can make fun of the Cavs but their fan base can celebrate something no other team in league history has done. Complete the single greatest Finals comeback in history.

that "extraordinary success"

Da fuck? Now I'm no math major but isn't going to 5 straight Finals winning 3 better than going to 4 straight Finals winning 1?

The Cavs had a nice 4 year run fueled by the best all around player I've ever seen. But I wouldn't call it extraordinary success.

Okay gotta give you that one. Something I didn't take into consideration as I don't watch Lakers games as often as you.

Yeah I've changed my tune about what I said in that other comment after what DJ said. I don't watch very many Lakers games during the season. Not gonna say a guy that watches all of their games is wrong. He sees LeBron in action a lot more than I do.

Don't get me wrong.....he is still very good but no longer what he was 4-5 years ago.

But, still better than 90% of the other players in the League.....LOL.

No doubt about that. The handful of regular season Lakers games I caught last season he was usually on his game. I was incorrectly judging him on those.

4 straight Finals...if not for the superteam W's and injuries in 1st appearance....who knows. 4 Straight Finals is very difficult to do. Miami did it. LA already failed on that one. They didn't even make the Finals in year one with Lebron.
