Do you think they're saving Pivetta to start G3 or G4?

They admitted they cheated. People were banned. Yet you keep going like it doesn't matter if it works for you :thumb:
Doesn't matter. The Astros are still on the books as the 2017 World Series champion.

Funny thing is the people that started the sign stealing then moved on. Alex Cora was one of the main players in the sign stealing in Houston and then in Boston in 2018 when the Sox won the WS. Yet, the ire of baseball fans is directed at Houston and not nearly as much to the Sox. If you are going to come down on the Astros, you have to give the Sox the same level of hate.

Ah. I'd go Houck and have Pivetta ready for long relief. I think Houck has looked better as a starter than as a reliever, though it isn't a huge sample size.

I have revised my Patriots joke to an Astros joke....

What's the best thing about dating a girl that is a Patriots (or now Astros) fan?

She doesn't care if you cheat just as long as she gets a ring. :drum:

Cora should’ve gone to Pivetta

Major tactical error

The white flag move to sawamura cost them the game

But arroyo running away from that ground ball before the altuve homer cost them dearly too
Pivetta threw like 140 pitches over a few days last week. Pretty sure he was still unavailable last night.

You have it right. Cora was one of the ringleaders of the trashcan fiasco. But now he’s merely just “one of the best managers in baseball”. I’m not sure why he gets a free pass.

Enrique Hernández will start in center field and hit second on Saturday afternoon in Game 2 of the ALCS against the Astros.

Hernández, who homered twice on Friday in the Red Sox' Game 1 loss to the Astros, has racked up a staggering 13 hits -- including eight of the extra-base variety -- over his last four playoff games, tied for the most over a four-game stretch in major-league postseason history. Alex Verdugo has been bumped up to the fifth spot in the Red Sox' lineup, ahead of veteran slugger J.D. Martinez, with righty Luis Garcia on the mound for the Astros. Here's the full lineup: Kyle Schwarber 1B, Enrique Hernández CF, Rafael Devers 3B, Xander Bogaerts SS, Alex Verdugo LF, J.D. Martinez DH, Hunter Renfroe RF, Kevin Plawecki C and Christian Arroyo 2B.

Chas McCormick will start in center field and hit eighth on Saturday afternoon in Game 2 of the ALCS against the Red Sox.

McCormick gets the nod over Jake Meyers, who remains sidelined due to a left shoulder injury. The 26-year-old rookie outfielder tallied three hits -- all singles -- on Friday night in the Astros' Game 1 victory. Here's the full lineup: Jose Altuve 2B, Michael Brantley LF, Alex Bregman 3B, Yordan Alvarez DH, Carlos Correa SS, Kyle Tucker RF, Yuli Gurriel 1B, Chas McCormick CF and Martin Maldonado C.

Huge inning.

Knew that was coming.

You can’t dance around Verdugo and expect bases cranked with JD to end well
