manipulation, there may not be a compromise that fully solves that problem. Move back the date that gives a player a year of service time, and teams will just keep players in the minors longer.

Due to the expiration of the collective-bargaining agreement between Major League Baseball and the Players Association, the owners have invoked a lockout that includes a freeze on all transactions involving players on teams’ 40-man rosters. With no news breaking, The Seattle Times will do a position-by-position assessment of the Mariners organization entering a 2022 season filled with expectations of success.


Over the past 20 years, dating back to when the Mariners last played in the postseason, there have been stretches of seasons where specific positions provided inconsistency and lack of production.Ty France might not be the Mariners’ first baseman of the future, but he’s their guy right now

some things...are..clear...in spite of the players union strike......
the old way..to re-build...is out the window...the new way...is to bounce back....when your minors become depleted.like oakland.and/or..when..you
miss the playoffs...or both...but selling off there good players should re-stock..there minors...enough..to..give them a fresh..start...and they should be able..to bounce back...in this case like a basketball......lololilololo...

it does seem..years and years...sense the sparky anderson..days in detroit...and the days when the white sox where last winning...like the mariners..(20years)
they have takein..the old school..way..the long road...5,6..years to rebuild...
oakland has no..intentions..of it taking that long..they want to be back in 3..or 4....at most... this is the new way..of ..bounce back...and it may get..
even faster.....why....saber metrics...
collage ..players..can..move to MLB..in a matter of 2 years..we will watch...how most bounce back teams.....will take mostly..or all...collage players..in the draft...the..players..union...is not...up..to..this new..development....cuz...jedi..started..it...and now...others..must..follow....cuz it worked...

what i would like to see..is a HS..draft...and a collage draft....seperate...then...every..team..has the same amount..of hs players...
5 rounds..would prob be the most..at middle or end of june...any not taken...could go in..the collage draft...if..they dont go to a collage...or junior collage...or com coll ...which..i would suggest...

if they want parity...or every team...even....lolollol...start ...there..........where..oppertunity...begins....not at the top....down....

2years..would get ya 10 hs players....add 10..dsl guys...and ya have a good AZL...pool..could just do it anyway....
but the 2nd round....of pitching must start..next year....for the mariners anyway...

they could add to...or project..ahead...this year..or still..fill..up on bats..

i would go bats..but that is just me ...
