I agree Stroman is a solid #2, and would rather put that money into Robbie Ray, unless there's real faith that one or more of our up and coming starters will be a true ace.
If we were to nab Suzuki, I'd think the smart move would have to be moving an OF prospect for a proven player of need. 3B is the obvious gap there, and I wouldn't be as opposed to moving a prospect to the A's right now as I would have been the last couple years where they were a real threat to contend. My contention of Suzuki though, is that we've seen HR reels, but so many of those are absolute meatballs/mistakes, and not so much hitting pitchers' pitches out. I'd like to see a sign that he's also a complete hitter and not just Hikedi Matsui 2.0. Don't forget that the pitchers in Japan are undoubtedly a tier below those in MLB.
