I agree Stroman is a solid #2, and would rather put that money into Robbie Ray, unless there's real faith that one or more of our up and coming starters will be a true ace.

If we were to nab Suzuki, I'd think the smart move would have to be moving an OF prospect for a proven player of need. 3B is the obvious gap there, and I wouldn't be as opposed to moving a prospect to the A's right now as I would have been the last couple years where they were a real threat to contend. My contention of Suzuki though, is that we've seen HR reels, but so many of those are absolute meatballs/mistakes, and not so much hitting pitchers' pitches out. I'd like to see a sign that he's also a complete hitter and not just Hikedi Matsui 2.0. Don't forget that the pitchers in Japan are undoubtedly a tier below those in MLB.

Dae Ho Lee could mash too. Lots of guys can hit bad pitches. We need hitters who can punish ok pitches. That's what separates good lineups from the average. There's no guarantee a guy will learn on the fly. That thinking is what has us sitting at 20+ years of no playoffs. Give me stars, not hopes.

im not sayin..the mariners will..on all the trades i checked out...like they could do a few..small ones and be ok....they dont have to..

Not to make us happy, in order for them to be successful and make all of this rebuild matter. Cameron was a good player but JRod has to be better, an actual all star or at least a player where when you talk about the team you include him in the best players.
