Lewis is healthy and they are happy with his overall strength. But they want to slowly work him back as a precaution.

I like this trade a lot I think we really moved the needle to the right as far as competing If Winkler is an all star again this year and Suarez finds himself then we have acquired two all stars one of which filled a huge need at LF. My two questions are:

1. What is going to happen with Kevin White I would imagine he will start the season in AAA

2. What will the back end of the rotation look like? Sheffield does not seem to be our guy in my opinion.

Yeah, White is gonna have to prove himself a little while in Tacoma if he's going to be an impactful pro. I love that he's rock solid with the glove, but somehow someway France looks great there too. I can see White being a trade deadline asset the way Justin Smoak once was: Over valued by a team with serious need for power at 1st.

Jerry has said he's still looking for a mid to upper end of the rotation arm, and obviously he's willing to look for some guys who may not be the names thrown out there by hot stove as we've seen with the Reds deal. A Manaea or Montas would be huge, but so would the cost.

I wonder if Matt Brash is going to be given some opportunity to get his feet wet early on. There's real concern with the shortened Spring that starters will have trouble getting fully stretched out to be ready to go 90+ pitches to start the year off. In that case, we have an advantage there, having already utilized the 6 man rotation some last season, and Brash might fit that role perfectly to avoid some injuries or over work early in the season.

Real deal, although I added the cash to even it out in the simulator, so in reality there’s a gap, and it appears to be an overpay by Seattle. GoodGood deal for the Reds, mostly because of the inclusion of Williamson.

I did read somewhere a Reds reporter said that Reds may want to attach Votto to any Castillo deal. Would that be worth it for the M's if the prospect price was right?

Votto at $25M for '22 and again in '23 and then $7M buyout for '24. I say hell ya.
That would’ve been swell. I don’t hate the trade at all but I don’t get the this was an earth shattering deal. They upgraded in LF but downgraded at 3B. They are definitely better it is just disappointing, which I can’t fault Jerry if no one wants to come to Seattle, but they shedded all that salary because they were suppose to spend like a drunken sailor.

A GM is evaluated on results. I blame him 100% if he doesn't get the job done. Yes you have to overpay to get a star to Seattle. That is just the cost of being a shitty organization for decades. We are better than we were last year, but I don't know if we will win as many games. Very disappointing offseason for me.

Disappointing for sure especially for me with all of the egg on my face of trying to talk you off the cliff with this rebuild.
