Cruz hasn’t signed yet has he? I wrote then deleted a long ass post on how dumb of an idea that would be but wasn’t 100% if he signed somewhere yet

I figured, I just didn’t want to go on a rant about how moronic it is if Dipoto is remotely considering Pujols. That isn’t a position of need and if he feels it is then Cruz is the much better option.According to Héctor Gómez of Z101 Digital, free agent designated hitter Nelson Cruz is finalizing a contract with a National League team.
With the designated hitter officially coming to the National League for the 2022 season, Cruz's market in free agency has doubled since the lockout, and he appears close to switching to the senior circuit after 17 seasons in the American League. The 41-year-old slugger launched 32 round-trippers in 513 plate appearances between the Twins and Rays last season. Despite some struggles following a midseason trade to Tampa Bay, Cruz's underlying batted ball metrics -- including average exit velocity (92.9 mph) and hard-hit percentage (52.5 percent) -- remained among the game's elite power producers, which means he's a virtual lock to reach the 30-homer mark again this upcoming season. It'll be fascinating to see where he ultimately lands.
