CBS Sports confirmed Newton was added to the Reserve/COVID-19 list and would not play.

Cam Newton Tests POSITIVE for Covid.

No need for it here when it's posted all over every news site. I think the headlines say most of what we need to know. I heard about it at my daughter's youth soccer game this morning. I read a couple headlines as confirmation and needed little else.

I listen to Classic Vinyl or 70s. My wife called me about Cam because I was stuck in a highway dead stop because I tesxted her I would be a bit late. I went to Weei and The BC/NC game was one and half of the stations wouldn't come in because I was in a dead zone. Even the AM stations were talking politics. One of those day where I was totally disconnected.

I put the phone out of reach and only answer calls on the bluetooth car service. I try to pay close attention to my driving and the traffic yesterday was some of the worst I've seen in 30 years. On 93N we didn't break 40 MPH from Manchester to Concord. Afte concord the speed limit goes up to 70 mph and we barely went 60 until Tilton/Laconia. We were finally able to go 70 up to Meredith (Exit 23) and 80 from there to Plymouth (Exit 25)
Of course there was a speed trap just after Exit 24. I saw brakes about a half mile ahead and slowed down to 75 and cruised past the six cars waiting for the $75-$150 tickets

Depends where he got it. I'm serious. If he got it at a friends house it really provides nothing but provides a cautionary tale.

However, again being serious, I'm leaning closer to your direction than my line above seems. If it is too much to expect all players to not get covid outside of their football activities then it's too much to not expect them to bring it back to the team. The players need bubble like measures and short of that, a shutdown is probably in order.

Just curious, why should the season have been scrapped? If nobody dies, which is almost certain to be the case, then why does it matter?

In my opinion, this whole thing has become strictly about catching the virus and not about the fact that it's practically harmless to healthy people. The players who had concerns about themselves or their families opted out.
