A lot of Flames fans don't like the Tanev signing and certainly the term is a little long (I would have preferred one less year) but if you were to tell me that you're swapping out Talbot and Brodie for Markstrom and Tanev, in my mind, that makes the Flames a better team.

At worst d swap is a wash. Goalie change is a hell of an improvement.

The roster still needs work but it’s the right path to be on.

Freddy Andersen is going to have a Vezina season behind improved defensive play, the Oilers are gonna throw 7 years 6 mil AAV at him and he will be one of the worst goalies in the league by 2023.

Looks like Jarmo went after both Hall and Pietro, just didn't work out. Probably because he wasn't willing to overpay. Plus he kept enough cap space to protect against a PLD offer sheet.

Wonder if he'll try to get our 2nd rounder back from Ottawa and offer sheet Barzal? Isles would have a hell of a time matching anything above 8. .

Like the addition of Koivu. Great at faceoffs, replaces Wennberg's defense and gives us a veteran to rally around and win one for. Also makes a trade including Jenner less painful.
