Sewell compares to Quinton Nelson. Dominate OL. I like Biadasz but definitely not the “best” OL in this class.

Looking at the current stat of the Broncos I see it this way:
10 draft picks

Positional Depth:
QB: Ok - I am good with Lock as the starter, and while I think 2020 will be up and down, I think we will see him make steps to cement himself as our future QB. Backups are not overly exciting, but the starter is the most important.

RB: Great - Gordon and Lindsay are one of the best RB duo's in the NFL. Royce Freeman may be he best 3rd string RB in the NFL, and I have heard that many feel that Freeman is a much better fit for the Shurmur's offense which adds to the value at RB.

OLine - There are questions in the stating 5, and even more so in the backups. Added depth needed pretty much across the board.

TE - Very good - Fant might be the one of the next elite TEs, and there depth with experience and loads of potential. There could be some trades in training camp and/or interesting cuts.

WR - Average to below average - Sutton is a beast but we are missing a true #2 and #3. Hamilton and Patrick have potential, but up to this point they have not been good enough consistently to not look for upgrades. Winfree could be an option to be a contributor if he can ever stay healthy. I think we need 2 WRs in the first 3 rounds and then let the best WRs win.

Dline - Great - Have 4 quality players with 2 high potential guys that could be great. A guy to develop would great considering Harris may leave after this year.

LB - Good - OLB is set with 4 above average players. ILB not as good. Alexander Johnson is probably set as a started for the next few years. Davis is very much upgrade able as is Jewell. I am hoping Hollins will take a step this year. I would like to see another ILB drafted.

CB - Below average - If every one is health Bouye, Callahan, and Bausby are decent with some upside in Yaidom, and Dawson. Would adding a CB in the first 3 rounds would be ideal, and maybe even 2 overall.

S - Average - Starters are great, but not much behind experience behind them, and could use to draft one at some point.

7 picks plus one or 2 on the oline. I could see us draft an RB too, especially if we end up trading Freeman as has been mentioned previously. I hope to spend some time doing some research as to guys I would like to see drafted and where. Work is super crazy but I will try to get that done prior to the draft.

Freeman was heaver *238 last season IMO this was why he was not as fast to the hole. if he loses 18 to 20 pounds I think we still have something in him .

I love his nose for the end zone

One knock I have on Jerry Jeudy. He struggles a bit in man to man coverage. Can’t be covered in zone though.

somewhere in here was a comment about Will Fuller changing Houston offense whe.mn he played inferring his speed was the missing element .

Didn’t Houston just trade their #1? Why?

almost thinKing teams do not want to invest in the WR position. Play with young guys on cost controlled contracts.

also what was the conclusion on Ruggs lack of production compared to D Smith?

I understand Juedy but is Smith the next great WR?

Strengths
  • Game-breaking speed requires safety help at all times
  • Slick outside-to-inside release
  • Easy, gliding strides as a route-runner
  • Torments coverage with changeup to fastball route speed
  • Has jetpack to take a quick slant to the house from anywhere on field
  • Smooth transitions from more complex routes
  • Disciplined eyes and route conviction to sell double moves
  • Man coverage will struggle staying with over routes and shallow crossers
  • Soft, reliable hands catch it inside and outside the frame
  • Good hand quickness to snare fastballs underneath
  • Shows toughness as a runner with willingness to drop his pads and finish
  • Talented kick returner and gunner on special teams

Weaknesses
  • Requires polish with press release
  • Needs to get free and up the field without excess stutter-steps
  • Had issues dealing with physical LSU cover corners
  • Contested catches could be a challenge early on
  • Must learn to protect the catch-point with his frame
  • Very average as deep-ball tracker
  • Better speed than wiggle on runs after catch
If Ruggs cant get off press coverage , his speed is useless and the QB has moved on to his next option. Wonder if the NFL has any CBs as good as LSU. If he can't get off press than he is a gadget becuase you have to design bunch plays to get a free release.

I would think Saban's honest opinion would have be my #1 scouting report.

Hopkins wanted a raise, and obviously Houston would rather pay an RB then WR since Johnson has a higher cap number then Hopkins currently does. Not sure how much of a raise that he was wanting. Here is the link (I have not read it yet):
Texans' O'Brien on trade: Hopkins wanted raise

He signed an 5 year $81M contract in 2017. He's top 4 in total contract value. Call me skeptical that DHop asked for a raise.

Brandon Aiyuk recently had core surgery. Should not hurt his stock.

Ask Aric: Should the Broncos trade back from No. 15?

Interesting but it’s it coming from the Broncos pre draft so could be true could be false Or somewhere in between .

im sure Denver has walked through all permutations of the top 15

"I wrote about some Day 2 options a few days ago, but there are plenty of other receivers who merit consideration. Justin Jefferson, Tee Higgins, Laviska Shenault Jr., Denzel Mims and Jalen Reagor are all guys that could be available in the second round for the Broncos, depending on how the board falls. Jefferson and Higgins may require the Broncos to trade up, but I think it's a decently safe bet that some collection of Mims, Reagor, Brandon Aiyuk and K.J. Hamler are there at No. 46 when Denver picks. I worry a bit about picking Shenault given his injury situation and the lack of pre-draft visits. In a deep class, Denver's decision must be related to value. If the Broncos think the difference between Ruggs and Mims/Reagor isn't that high, then wait until the second round to pick a receiver. Their grades on these players will be pivotal to determine when to strike. One more note: It certainly wouldn't surprise me to see Denver pick two receivers over the team's first five picks."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will bet anything the Denver Broncos and Matt Russell - have the absolute best and most up to date information on LaViska Shenault. The Broncos have two of his former teammates on their 52 - as well. In Shenault's case the Broncos will know better than anyone else on when to pick him or let him go.

Klis posting Elway could be trying to gain another pick between 15 and 46

How could he do that ?

Chicago and Mia have multiple 2nd rounders
SF at 31

Rumor a few weeks back was that he was keeping a number of guys he was going to cut to try and use for trade bait during the draft. But seeing how much a 5 time pro bowler goes for, unless we are trading with the Texans doesn't look like we'd get that much.

Starting to wonder if we have any 3rd round picks after this is all said and done.

I heard we might trade all our picks for Derek Carr and a 5th.

I was going to call you an idiot because that’s so unrealistic, and then I remembered that the Raiders have Mariota so they likely threw in that 5th in order to get rid of Carr, good call.
