Even with a win, I’m GUESSING we won’t be worse than 14th.

here’s games that impact us when we beat Raiders:
Need Browns to beat Cincy
Want Falcons over TB
Good if Dallas beats Washington
If Bears beat Vikings, that is also good.

for our third round pick, it would be good for Steelers to lose to Baltimore.

Geo, happy holidays

Thanks, Chris - and the same to you and your family!

I still enjoy the draft, but the past couple years really haven’t studied the players and needs of other teams ahead of us like I used to. As DC recently pointed out I’m a fan that falls in love with positions rather than individual players. But I’ve been a fan of, when grades on players are close, going with valuable positions. I define those as QB, LT, Edge Rusher, and CB. I’d say this year we won’t be chasing the QB or Edge - so that leaves OT and CB as position options.

So I’ll just throw out a couple names, but I’m not educated enough to know if 1.They will be great players or 2. if that will be the right slot.

OT - Tristan Wirfs, Iowa and Austin Jackson, USC. Wirfs seems to be all over the place with different mocks having him from top 10 to top 20. So would he be there at 14? I like OL from Wisconsin and Iowa, they traditionally come into the NFL with excellent fundamentals and well prepared. Jackson is a great athlete and will need more coaching than Wirfs to be ready day 1, but with a really high ceiling.

CB - CJ Henderson, Florida - at 6’ 1”, a taller CB that I could see Fangio really liking a lot. Not knowing what Chris Harris’ future holds, I think having a CB with top tier potential could be a big priority for the team this offseason.

Those would be my top two - but I wouldn’t be upset with a WR if he was a true threat to pair up with Sutton. Giving Lock another weapon will be a priority I’m sure. I just don’t know if it rises to meet the same level of impact as protecting Lock or solidifying a defense in round 1.

thanks.

CB to me is a hole depending on CHJ.

All the other positions have a veteran player at the moment.

talk of Denver liking Joe Shobert in FA

would love a top FA CB #1 if there is one to chase.

I’m super confident Munchak will find OLineman. I hear Bolles has finally taken to coaching and learning technique .

having the QB swings wide open the draft.

Denver needs 12 or so blue chip players I think right now they have 8
Not even counting Callahan or James who Are freebies. can fill that void this year

I think Chris Harris is gone. He doesn't fit all that well in the Fangio scheme (IMO) and consequently he will be worth less to the Broncos than to other teams.

Coach has stated not on him quite a bit with Harris IMO is a 50 50 thing because of age and cheap alternatives and youth movement

I would say that is true about 90 percent of our player going into UFA

We will probably be the youngest team in the NFL other than Miami, they should be mighty young by next year./

Shelby Harris should be spent on above all players.

Wolf should be given a Contract only if he is okay that Harris is better than him

Connor McGovern, I would sign him but for RG and Center in the Draft I would draft an Enforcer at Center I would not blink an eye to draft one in the first round but he better be a monster mean MF.

I was listening to a pod cast this morning (I don't remember which one) and the comment was made that Shelby Harris is a great pass rush guy that can bat down balls, but he gets pushed off the line of scrimmage too much. I have not seen may games this year due to the Broncos poor record they have not been televised in my area. Any truth to Harris getting pushed back a lot?

The argument was made that Gotsis should be retained over Harris because of his ability to play the run, and that it would be easier to get a guy that can present a pass rush. The podcast also said that they would rather have Calais Campbell as he likely gets cut by the Jags due to their salary cap issues.

Just thought I would share some things I have heard.

Article in The Athletic today suggested it would cost $9-10 MM a year to keep Shelby Harris. Made it sound like he was open to the highest bidder to set up his family for life. Can’t blame him for that, on the other hand makes it seem likely we may need to plan on replacing his production.

Shelby Harris never did anything good until Bill Kollar coached him - I'm thinking that's a factor (so is his age).

They swore out an arrest warrant for the LSU QB in Oklahoma today - assault and battery on 11 college students from Oklahoma.
