Taking Lebron and AD out of the equation, I'm just not seeing anything outside of draft capital. Maybe Avery Bradley, Caruso, and/or Kuzma. But what else do you have out of those 3?

In the above post I had:

Danny Green, Kuz and The Bald Mamba, plus this years #1 pick. Green is a $15million expiring contract that could be used for cap relief and Kuz and Caruso are good young players to add to their young core or be used in a trade later on.

That would be a solid offer, but not one that another team couldn't beat. Which is why Jrue would basically have to poison the well like AD did.

Seems weird that they would want to give up Herro. Other than better defense, I'm not sure what this would do to help Miami. It's also not like he shrank or didn't show up in the bubble.

Also, a lot of what Miami has accomplished is due to the culture they have built. I'm not saying Holliday wouldn't fit in...but they already know that Herro does. Why mess with that?
Not sure I'd put much weight into any rumor like that............"may be open to"?

also may not.

I don't know the impact the pick would have but I just tried those 3 for Holiday on the trade machine and it doesn't work. Money not adding up

Herro would only be included in a trade for Giannis IMO

Green makes 15.4 million.

Caruso 2.7 million.

Kuz 3.5 million.

That's within the 75% trade guidelines since Holiday makes around 26 million.

These layoffs I've been seeing the last few years from places like ESPN made me not want to ever pursue a job at any of these networks

Yeah, that's what I'd think. Even then, I'd be reluctant. I think you guys have a white Reggie Miller in that kid.

Yup and if the reports about Giannis and Miami are true then i rather take my chances next summer when he's a free agent instead of trading several of our best young players now for him

That is preferable to gutting the team for sure, but just ask a Laker fan how that plan works.

That is my point though

You got LeBron. Didn’t get AD until you actually made the trade.

And the trade got you a championship.

Might have happened this year without the deal, but it might not.

We've got a start date!

Seems like the best decision for the most parties to me.

I'm also fairly certain it's the decision that makes the most money for the NBA and players too.

My point, which was partially tongue in cheek, is that not getting PG turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Had the Lakers gotten him, they may not have either AD or Lebron and we saw how PG performed in the playoffs...so they may not have that title either.

I think the Lakers will definitely try to get him and as I said above, they can out together a decent package. They just can't put one together that another team can't beat.

Example: Danny Green, Kuz and The Bald Mamba, plus this years #1 pick. Green is a $15million expiring contract that could be used for cap relief and Kuz and Caruso are good young players to add to their young core or be used in a trade later on.

That would be a solid offer, but not one that another team couldn't beat.

So then every young player the Lakers had on their roster 2 years ago with a Pelican LOL. Ingram, Ball, Hart and Kuz

It's because the trade machine is using 2019-2020 salaries instead of 20-21 for some reason...not sure why

Disney's about as cut throat as you're going to get for a large scale company. I remember back in the mid 2010's where they laid off their entire IT staff for H-B1 and forced them to train their replacements. Anytime I get a LinkedIn message from ESPN regarding a potential position opportunity, I usually just hit delete without looking it over.
