Rourke worked out for the Falcons on Wednesday after going unclaimed via the NFL’s waiver wire. He impressed enough to earn a one-year deal worth $915,000 USD.

He's gotta beat out Taylor Heinicke for that 3rd qb spot to get that coin ... could be doable. 915k USD would be more that the top 2 paid cfl qbs ... combined

At some point, you have to think that Nathan just wants to play some actual football again. Maybe he gives it one more try down south to latch onto another team, but you have to think the Lions as well as several other CFL teams are keeping close tabs on him.

Canadian quarterback Nathan Rourke has gone unclaimed on the NFL’s waiver wire following his release from the Atlanta Falcons. He is now a free agent.

The 26-year-old was cut on Sunday after playing the entire fourth quarter of Atlanta’s preseason loss to the Miami Dolphins. He led four drives, completing three-of-thirteen pass attempts for 37 yards and rushing twice for 24 yards.

That's a good question - I guess it boils down to whether or not the money was guaranteed. There's a chance a portion of that $915,000 contract he signed was guaranteed

I just took a closer look at some sites and it doesn't appear any of that $915,000 was guaranteed. Looks like the Falcons don't have to play Nathan one thin dime.

which is probably why he signed a 3 year deal today with the BC Lions.

Stamps would prob prefer broken VA to broken down Bo Levi but I doubt Lions want to trade him to a western rival ... so VA to Ticats and Bo Levi to Stamps it is then

I would say his main motivation to continue in the NFL is to get a legit shot at playing a game ... because he really hasnt gotten one to date

He got a pretty good contract from Jville last season that had guaranteed money which indeed ended getting him paid more than any cfl starter ... no guaranteed money this season as far as I can see

Bo had a rough game last outing, but he's put up some pretty good numbers for Hamilton this season. Leading the league in passing yards, TD's and red zone efficiency.
