No way McDaniels goes to the Jets... there is some serious bad blood there between the two franchises (Mangini (spygate) & Parcells, Curtis Martin departures). Out of deference to the Pats organization, McDaniels would be wise to decline an interview (if it's granted).

I agree....BUT......If Kraft promised him something and BB agreed to it and they didn't follow through, or keep any part of it, then nothing would be sweeter than to go to the hated Jets and beat the Patriots and win the division. That and he'd be the biggest hero in New York since Bucky Dent.

Simple question...................Would you keep Danny Shelton next year? The second question is this.............
Is Danny Shelton worth the $11,500,000.00 he's scheduled to earn next year?

I'd cut him lose and look for a FA who I could bring in for $6-$7-$8M a year and bump up a couple of guys like Albert McClellan and Jeremy Hill.

No thanks on bringing back Shelton. Thought he was going to be a real asset to this D but he’s been the biggest disappointment of any of this year’s acquisitions. I questioned Bill’s decision not to pick up his 5th year option at the time but that turned out to be a good choice.

Shelton’s a UFA btw, because they didn’t pick up the option, which would’ve been around $8m iirc. Don't know where the $11.5m number came from

I heard a rumor this morning that Woody wants Josh McDaniels. He thinks that Josh can make Darnald the next Brady with legs that work. With great positioning in the draft and a truck load of money for free agents he believe that Josh will have the Jets taking over the AFC East next year.

He'll probably rehire Rex Ryan.

Brady has always had the best legs in the league, at least within a 5 foot radius.

Shelton has not worked out. Good player but not up to championship football.

Salary bump. Both of these guys make less than $1M and are worth double what they make now.

If Danny put up the same numbers he did this year..... NO WAY IN HELL. That would be paying him over $1,000,000 per solo tackle. Because that is all he had. 10 solo tackles for the year.

I agree, I had hoped for more but he just seems weak to me, and this is IMO a position the Pats must address
