Rookie RB Sony Michel, who had a procedure to drain fluid from his knee in early August, returned to the practice field for the first time since Aug. 1. When Michel had the procedure, those close to the situation projected he would miss at least 10 days, but believed that his availability for most (if not all) of the regular season wouldn't be in jeopardy. While it naturally isn't ideal for Michel to have missed the first three preseason games, and it's highly unlikely he would play in
Thursday's finale, his presence on the field Monday represented a positive step for him. Also, starting right tackle Marcus Cannon (strained calf muscle) returned to practice Monday.
