It's the only leverage Clark has, especially 4 months out from the deadline to agree to a long-term deal. It's the smart business decision to say that now. Let's see how things progress before we declare Clark an enemy of the state.

To be honest i thought this might happen. Just a way to avoid having to report to OTA's and things. He is going to be on the FT so no long term security.

Man I hope Clark resigns. Good pass rushers are hard to find and the DLINE is our major weakness on this team at the moment. Reed progressed to a high level but I feel like a lot of his sacks were a result of Clark's edge pressure. I hope Clark isn't looking for top 5 money, but given his age and progression... if he is.... mmmmm, I say give it to him. I guess it depends what Seattle is going to do with Wilson (contract wise) as well.

Looks like Justin Coleman is looking to sign with Detroit in a deal that is being reported will make him the highest paid nickel corner in the league. Good for him, getting an $8million+ per year contract.

Well deserved. I like to thank Coleman for his service and work. Played pretty good as a NCB

What I think is suprising is No Earl Thomas signing yet.

I thought it was a sure thing that he is going to Dallas and don't must sure things happen early????

I wonder who is the team "mudding the waters"

Just saw Landon Collins got 84 million with 45 guaranteed, betting Thomas just upped his price tag by a lot. Shitty teams handing out insane contracts really screw things up.

Cowboys have said he needs to come down on his price. The 14mil range seems to be to high for their liking.

Both Collins and Mathieu gets 14mil/yr. Earl is gonna go back to the drawing board and up his price. Cowboys however want to go as cheap as possible by saying 8-10mil/yr.

This is going to end well for both sides.

Cowboys have to go cheap with Dak and Zeke contacts on the horizon plus Demarcus Lawrence on the tag due a contract as well. SF has money and GB is a rumor for ET, but it's going to be costly unless he takes a massive discount for Dallas.

I doubt ET is going to take a hometown discount just to play for the Cowboys. He had made it pretty clear he wants to be highest paid Safety and the Cowboys does not want ‘splashy’ moves in FA for the reasons you stated.

He’s gonna have no problem finding suitors but his price tag, which is probably 15-16mil/yr. now is going to be costly for someone.

In the end, Hawks made the right business decision.
