Dallas had a number of failed QBs who were not named Romo and Dak since Aikman. Very little chance Cook or Lynch succeeds there IMO.

There really was only a period of 2000-2005 that you're describing, with Quincy Carter, Testaverde, and Bledsoe. So, really just Carter (and multiple backups that were forced into starting by injuries to the starters) and a few quality veterans at the tail end of their careers.

Henson in that time, wasn't he? Seems Lynch and Cook are at best backups now. what makes you think they'd have succeeded?

But either way, Dallas lucked into Dak as he was at best their 3rd choice.

Henson started 1 game behind Testaverde in 2004.

Every QB is better behind a pro bowl line with a pro bowl running game and potential pro bowl #1 WR and TE. Would they have been good enough to stick? Maybe not, but it's water under the bridge now. Cook will be back on TV this spring.

QB can make the O-line look better, too, right? EVERY QB does not look better behind a PB line. QBs who are smart and make quick decisions can succeed behind any line.

EVERY QB is better with a quality line. EVERY QB is better when given time to throw. EVERY QB is better when the defense is worried about the running game.

This is true.

What @dtgold88 said is true also. A good QB who can get the ball out quick and make accurate, quick decisions can still be successful being a bad offensive line.

Would they be better with a better offensive line? Yes.

Of course....but NOT every QB needs a great line to excel. Remember hearing LeCharles Bentley say if you want a good line find a QB who can make quick decisions.

Exactly...often the line is about scheme. Baker was sacked 20+ times first 8 games last year. Only 8 in the last 8 games. same line.

Now I'm just hoping what Wylie said was not true but it's looking like maybe it was.

LeCharles Bentley sounds like an idiot, trying to pass the blame.

Could've had something to do with the opponents perhaps? Bengals x2, Chiefs, Falcons were in that stretch.

First, KC tied for league lead in sacks. Also in the first 6 games he played they faced bad defenses in the Jets, Oakland and TB, but never mind that

Guy was also hit only 9 times in that stretch. Next closest was 28.

You get other teams faced bad defenses, too, right, and were sacked a lot more than he was 2nd half?

@Wamu @WiggyRuss @Shanemansj13

did any of you hear Freddy's presser? Specifically, his explanation on the end of half debacle? He'd have been better off just saying he F'd up.

I lose more faith in him by the minute. If there's something anyone can point to he's done that offers encouragement to you please fill me in.
me after the Seattle debacle, @Wamu

Apology accepted.

I was questioning that play call before his presser. And before he said that you did defend him. No apology from me for your defense of him before he spoke about it. This is just another example of how you think you're always right. Chancing your tune after the fact doesn't make you right.

Anyway have a Merry Christmas, no reason to keep this going in an NBA thread. Because no matter what in your mind you're always right.

Great. Find where I defended him. Shouldn't be too tough. Well, other than the fact I didn't say it.
