Some of it does sound like sour grapes from Griffin, but i believe most of the stuff, and i bet Magic would give a similar account of why he didn't like it either lol

Exactly. No doubt LeBron is a pain, and especially when back on Cavs.
Gilbert promised him that type of power.

That being said, Griffin would much rather spin in like it was his idea to leave vs him saying they didn’t care if I stayed.

This was pretty much what was said on Golic/Wingo (think that was the show).....The day to day process of all the business part. Griffin did say that he had to piece the team around LeBron each year instead of getting pieces for now and later.

Awww.......poor baby

@trojanfan12

Can we please start a Kevin Love catch all thread where the Cleveland homers can jerk off to him all they want and keep these stupid conversations off the main thread?

That way, when someone feels like disparaging Kevin Love they have a place to go.

I would guess that there are more posts about love on this thread than any other player by a wide margin. And that is just stupid.

A GMs "real problem" is an owner who let his GM spend whatever he wanted and allowed him to replace a coach when he asked to replace him when the team was 30-13?

An owner who let him spend more in tax than nearly the entire league?

Isn't to say Gilbert would be fun to work for but Lebron cannot be a peach. Everyone knows he gets the credit when things go well but took little blame when they didn't.

David Griffin walked away from his post as Cavaliers general manager on Monday. Griffin made it known in a text to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin that he and team owner Dan Gilbert didn’t have the same vision of the future, citing a difference in opinion on “fit” moving forward.

@WiggyRuss @dtgold88

Oops.
Griffs new version of story not really holding up.
Fit to Griff was never having to listen to Gilbert's opinion. An opinion Gilbert wanted heard, especially after he urged them to draft Green instead of Zeller.

Well I'm not allowed to say anything directly to dtgold88 whe he's yelling at people for no agreeing w/ him.

So I'll just say that fella has a screw loose to think if anyone dares to disagree w/ him it's somehow an argument.

Now that's some bizarre thinking.

And I'm thirsty.

There has been a rumored undercurrent of distrust towards Gilbert from Lebron and others for a while now. Perk was there in '17/'18, I'm sure he has some inside dirt. It's not all about spending money.

LOL.

No it does not.

According to PER, here were the best 10 players from last year’s playoffs in order:

1: Nikola Jokic
2: Kawhi Leonard
3: Durant
4: Montrezl Harrell
5: Giannis
6: Harden
7: DeRozan
8: Curry
9: Aldridge
10: Embiid

PER is far from a perfect stat. Jokic was definitely not the best player in the playoffs last year, Harrell was not in the top 5 or even 20.

In the regular season, here is just a sample of some of the crazy PER rankings:

1: Giannis
2: Harden
3: Davis
4: KAT
5: Jokic
6: Embiid
7: Leonard
8: LeBron
9: Vucevic
10: Gobert
11: Curry
12: Kyrie
13: Durant
14: Capella
15: Lillard
16: Whiteside
17: Drummond
18: Harrell
19: Nurkic
20: George

PER values stat stuffers and bigs with high rebounding rates. It does not factor in defense effectively. It is a very biased stat.

Of course Love has a higher PER. That does not make him a better player.

I don't see anything crazy with that list tbh

Love has a higher playoffs PER as well as win share lol

Not even close, to be honest.
I dont give a fuck about Griffin, but he negotiated to stay, and that is fact.
I'm not sure we can say it with 100% certainty, but I agree if Gilbert agreed to pay him more than he was worth he'd have stayed.

Say whatever ya want, my friend. And me being a rational adult I happen to agree with this and fair to say disagreeing does not = arguing (though arguing is disagreeing).

Of course LeBron is difficult.

Riley was never going to concede what Gilbert did, and I don’t blame him.

There was also a "rumbling" he walked away because Gilbert wouldn't pay him.

But as I said I don't doubt he's not fun to work for.....but as a fan the #1 criteria for me is will to win/willingness to spend

By that "logic" any PG who plays solid D is better than Kyrie?

The Glove or that Flat Earther, who would you rather have?

For me it would depend if you want a lock-down PG or a shot-making PG. Not sure which one I'd want. It would depend on what the roster looks like.

Payton was a vastly better player. Irving does have some fancy dribbles though, cool!

You were wrong- its waiving right in front of your face in plain black and white. Just own it man. You took it on the chin. It happens. Wear it and stop your pathetic, babbling nonsense. Its time. Its really really time.

once again

You think if Gilbert blew him away with an offer he wouldn't have stayed? Cannot be sure but I think he would have.

But Gilbert knows Griff is not a keep at all costs GM.

If that is true, wouldn't Gilbert have done all he could to keep Griff?
