There's is no way he goes to Miami unless Presti has just lost his mind. The only thing they can do is Bam, Justice and Goran. That isn't close to the long term value that they can find elsewhere.

That's what I'm saying. It was all a smoke screen when all of the details came out. He was literally switching meeting locations up with the Lakers while planning to meet with PG in LA. Kawhi knew full well what he was going. He sabotaged the Lakers to prevent them from putting a better roster out (think the Lakers still managed to put a fairly decent roster around Lebron and AD).

You have to be strategic. The Lakers have to 2 top 5(at worst 7) players in the NBA. If they were recruiting me and I knew I was going somewhere else, I'd string them along as much as possible to prevent them from getting other players. It would make no sense for Kawhi to have announced immediately for the Clippers (if they had PG in place) and allow the Lakers a lot of time to get the next tier of FAs.

This. It could have gone like last summer when we got the big fish but totally struck out on the role players....instead we are 1 of 5 or so WC teams that could make it to the Finals.
