Well usually when the odds are that overwhelming...people know something we don't. For all that we know the deal is lined up they are just working out the details, framework, etc.

I would say he is lock for LA but who really knows.

Yeah, I don't know enough about gambling to know how big a favorite +450 makes them.

I do know that I'm not going to believe anything until I see who actually steps on the court for the first game of the season next year. lol

Yeah that was my mistake. $8M for Boogie. I think it depends what the market demands are for him.

Boogie will be interesting.

He definitely showed some signs of being at least close to pre-injury Boogie, but there were also times where he was MIA or just bad.

Were those MIA/bad games the result of a new system, new teammates and being out of shape after having not played in a year?

Or was it the Achilles and that's how it's going to be for the rest of his career?

What teams think about those possibilities will determine his market.

I mean they can always just flip those odds but still kinda just makes you think something is up but like you said I wouldn't be surprised at anything at this point.

and as much as I dog the Clippers I guess it'd be nice for the so and so's to get just one, even though this'll ALWAYS be a Lakers town...

course, My dream scenario would be for Balmer to move the S.O.B.'s outta town(maybe to Seattle) and win it there...

Actually, I didn't. I was in my car and arrived at where I was headed before they got to that. lol

They must think Kawhi is going to the Clippers and AD plus someone else are going to the Lakers.

Can only pay Cousins like 8 mil, so he's probably gone too

I'm with CitySushi on this one. He's still coming off two pretty major injuries and he really didn't get much run coming off his 2nd injury to give you an impression of just what kind of player he still is. It's possible that plenty of teams will have reservations at giving him a big deal, especially long term. He's already missed on a big payday last year because of his Achilles so he may not want to pass up another summer of taking money, but I could definitely see a scenario where he says its better for him to take a 1 year deal with the Warriors for the mid-level exception (like 7 to 8 mil), play that season hopefully fully healthy, and then cash in next summer. Plus, with the other injuries the Warriors have had, it could actually benefit Boogie to stay. The Warriors are going to need someone other than Curry get buckets next year with Klay and KD out. That should open up a lot of opportunities for a guy like Boogie

Mentioned this in the Lakers forum.

I wouldn't read too much into it. A lot of times the Vegas odds aren't set so much on inside info but anticipating how the public is going to bet and adjusting accordingly.

So the Lakers example, they know that the Lakers are a "public team", meaning they have large fanbase and one that even casuals know about. They also know they have Lebron and that there's a possibility they might get some other player. So because the Lakers are so popular and those other reasons, they can't really afford to set the Lakers odds long. Like the book maker might think they don't really have a chance to win the title next year, but if they set the odds at +800 or +1000 along with other teams they don't think will win, they'd lose their ass if one of those scenarios broke right and the Lakers do get players and win

This is certainly possible. This off-season is going to be the craziest yet for the entire league

just about ANYTHING beats the snot outta baseball season...

Love the Dodgers, but can only watch so much regular season ball, especially when the games come on at 10:30pm. I'll stay up easily for the NBA, MLB not so much.

I think because he is coming off those major injuries that he will try and lock himself into as much as he can get if he gets a significant offer.

I mean if he is only being offered 2 years 30M maybe that changes. But if he is being offered 3 years 90 million he takes the money.

nah, this part of the year is a literal dead zone for me...

it's why I look at more offseason football and basketball more during this part of the year...
