True.

Cook's a good move, too.

Yeah, I posted a little earlier that, all thing considered, the Lakers FO/Pelinka actually seem to be doing a good job of putting together a decent roster from the leftovers.

Some folks are already wondering if they would have been better off not going after Kawhi. I'm wondering that a little myself.

But end of the day, if you have a legit shot to add a player like Kawhi to Lebron and AD, you have to take that shot and worry about the rest later.

I want Russ nowhere near this team if it includes trading most of our young core.

Russ and Butler with role players is 2nd round at max.

Role with this group and make a run at a top FA in 2021.

Destroying your roster to get Russ which doesn't make us a title contender would be really dumb

I think this is more in relation to having Jimmy Butler.

But I completely agree with your assessment on Russ. I don't want him anywhere near the Heat.

He was pretty much the only quality 3 and D guy left and other teams were going after him. Someone was going to pay him.

The Lakers seem to be making these all 2 year deals. So, if he doesn't pan out, they can move him after the season as an expiring contract or just let him walk in 2 years.
Yeah, he had 2 other bidders...

Raptors and Mavs.

You needed to outbid them.

I pray you don't get Morris.

Dude is a grinder and can hit big shots.

The Clippers can't afford him after taking on Harkless.

No regrets.

That Miami pick for helping facilitate the Butler trade got us Kawhi.

agreed. if you have a shot at a player like that you'd be a fool not to take it...

So after missing out on Kawhi, the Lakers added Danny Green and Quinn Cook, then brought back KCP and McGee. That's not too shabby. Could be better if Kawhi made his decision earlier, but still pretty decent. Green and Cook are good fits. Could get a lot better if they can convince Bradley to come

Honestly, I obviously wanted Kawhi on the Lakers, but I had no problem if he chose to stay in Toronto or go to the Clips.

Staying in Toronto would have continued a great story. Especially since you know that Ujiri would probably figure out a way to get him more help.

Going to the Clips not only creates a real basketball rivalry between the Lakers and Clippers, but it also makes LA the center of the NBA universe with 4 of the top players in the league on the Lakers and Clippers.

I mean, you shoot your shot when it's a top 3 guy.

The problem is how many guys came off the board while you waited.

I'd probably still take Green over Redick.

So, you didn't miss out on that much.

A name the Lakers should target?

J'Mychal Green.

I want him to stay with us and we have bird rights.

But, he and Morris are the guys I want most.

What's up with Marc Gasol?

Gotta think the Suns are gonna match anything for Oubre....nobody has big money outside Dallas.

...and Boogie?

Heat keeping Dragic?

Westbrook getting dealt?

Off-season isn't over yet...

Does anyone think the Rockets would be fool enough to add Westbrook?

Avery?

Or

Bradley?

I'm assuming Avery and that would actually make a ton of sense.

Another good wing defender in the vain of Pat Beverley.

He could be the D and Korver your 3.

I don’t think any Lakers fan is really distressed about what happened. Sure we would have loved Kawhi and it hurts seeing him on the Clippers but the Lakers have improved a LOT.

Yep. I was amazed at how quickly guys were signing. Overall, Kawhi handled his FA a lot more like most FA's do. But everyone else signing so quickly made it look like he was dragging things out.

Yeah, either J'Mychal or Morris would be great if the Lakers can get one of them.

I think Marc Gasol opted in with the Raptors.

Gotta think the Suns are gonna match anything for Oubre....nobody has big money outside Dallas.

Heat keeping Dragic?

Yeah, I'd be surprised if the Suns didn't match an offer for Oubre. Wouldn't mind the Lakers giving Boogie a shot.

I don't think they can afford Dragic. I think he is set to get $19 million.
