Warriors sign a former Kings lottery pick big man, sounds familiar...

I'm one of the few around here on the WCS hype train. Been since day 1. Love the pick up. Can't believe we could get him for slightly above the minimum. What in the world is going on?

I always wanted Cauley-Stein on the Warriors. Hopefully, the Warriors can tap more of his potential. If nothing else, he's a big who can hold his own defending a guard or wing player on the perimeter.

He probably expected there to be more interest from teams despite him being consistently inconsistent throughout his career. The potential is there and if any team is gonna get WCS to actually rebound and protect the rim it'd be the Warriors(or Spurs), but right now it's just potential. Mavs could have used him too but maybe they have other plans.

Why are you surprised lol. They seems to always pull something, they signed Boogie for a small deal. That was huge last year, a shock to everyone. I don't get this other than him saying fuck it I want to try to win...but still.

Well I imagine the market wasn't as big as he hoped it to be. The Warriors are one of the few teams with an immediate starting center position available to him without him needing to really compete to get it. He'll automatically slide in the starting C spot. That allows Looney to still remain the first big off the bench and also play some 4 at times with WCS. Could build up some value and possibly be a guy who might get a MLE offer next year, if not from the Warriors.

I honestly can't wait for the upcoming season because Kerr better fucking adapt to use more pick and roll with the additions of WCS and DLo. Bet every dollar you guys have on Steph winning a 3rd MVP. Book it.

So the Warriors preferred to bring in WCS rather than stick with Cousins?

The Cousins market is lower than anyone could have dreamed.

So the Clippers was out of it more than 24 hours prior to the meeting?

That report from yesterday sounds full of shit.

Why would you go through with the meeting today if you had no chance of getting Kawhi according to those reports from yesterday

To be fair,

They need defense out of the 5 spot more than anything else. I don’t think this is an indictment of Cousins as much as it is filling a more pressing need for the Warriors.

Plus if WCS signed for just above the minimum, even if the Cousins market isn't high it's more than that I would assume.

No preferred, but were limited to. They're hard capped because of the trade. WCS is signing for basically a minimum contract. You think Boogie is coming back for that? The Warriors essentially chose Looney over Cousins, but even then I'm not sure Cousins is re-signing for 5M a year.

Well right now it looks like he's going to be going somewhere on the MLE again.
