The last time the 1st round only had one series that went more than 5 games was 2003-2004.

Better for us.

Let's get to the 2nd round ASAP.

I'm likely to be wrong but I think every single 2nd round series will go 6 or 7 games.

Yeah. There was a pretty clear gap from the top 10 teams and the bottom 20. So now we really get to the matchups that everyone was really waiting for.

Both Eastern conference matchups are intriguing and I honestly have no idea what will come of either of them. I could see both of them going 7 or both of them going 5 with either team winning.

The West is only a little less up in the air as I don't think the Blazers can beat the Nuggets. Joker is going to beat Kanter like a rented mule.

And Warriors-Rockets looks like 7 games for sure and either side coming out on top.

Hey @bksballer89 where are the 2nd round threads? Might as well get started with them.

Houston and GS playing each other definitely helps each series going longer in the West.

File a police report immediately. Questioned credibility increases the longer you wait. Unwanted scrutiny, I get that, but it's part of the process when you're dealing with someone famous imo.

Sweeping it under the rug, because you're afraid is a real issue, but unfortunately it seems to works in favor of the perpetrator more often than not.

I still say if he didn't already have a rough public image, Mike Tyson probably would not have been convicted of r*pe...on the point, if the young woman had waited a couple of years to report it, there's a good chance he would not have been found guilty.

Defintely agree with that.

I don't remember the specifics of the Tyson case, but pretty sure there was physical evidence, right?

That makes a huge difference in a woman's decision to report or not.

No physical evidence + celebrity assaulter means the victim has to be extremely brave to report. I hate that bystanders with absolutely no involvement in the case tend to make it harder for the woman to report.

I think that really sucks.

I know few will agree,

But I actually think GS will win this next series in 5.

Houston will fight, the games will be competitive, but GS is just better.

Others go 6 or more IMO.

Interesting...

I understand the "better" part, and agree actually. but why only 5 games, coach...?

Well you have been the most steadfastly pro-Warriors guy of the regulars here, as far as predicting who would win the title. So this isn't surprising.

I would be surprised if that series is less than 6 games.

Tyson also had bad representation iirc...they basically banked their case on...sex was consensual, she should've known his reputation with women and what was going to happen when she went to his room....jury wasn't buying.

I suspect this case will get settled out of court like most do when a wealthy, famous person is involved.

I think last year was supposed to end in 5, but Houston escaped when Iggy went down.

Although they have really struggled with complacency this season, I defintely believe the current Warriors as is are better than last year's team. Looney playing better, Bogut brings high basketball IQ to an already elite offense.

I also don't think the Rockets are quite as good as they were last year. They are playing great basketball, but I think GS goes 3-0 at home and gets 1 in Houston.

We shall see.

Also, I want to be different.

Since 6 or 7 of these first round series will be decided in 4 or 5 games, I decided to research past years back to when the first round became a best of 7. 2004 was the last time there weren't three that went to a game 6 and in fact, only one did...seems to be a counterweight to what happened in 2003.

sorry, but I think I'm with ya on this. They will be ready for this series. Probably the one they've been eyeing since Lebron left the Cavs.

The Lakers are sending a big contingent to Philadelphia today for Monty Williams' second interview, sources tell @sam_amick and me. Rob Pelinka and Jeanie Buss leading a group that also includes Joey Buss, Jesse Buss, Kurt and Linda Rambis, and COO Tim Harris.

And we wonder why they often seem like they don’t know what they’re doing.

Linda Rambis is basically running the Lakers all because she's Jeanie's best friend. Neither have a clue what the fuck they are doing. Any success is because they stumbled ass backwards into it
