I'm not sure if I agree sir. We are a very bad basketball program, if he left we would immediately drop to just better than San Jose State in the MWC unless we somehow struck gold.

Washington State has at least had success before (albeit with Tony Bennett) and is in a power conference that is absolutely wide open

Also I must say, I have not seen you on here in years sir....it is good to see you again!

Washington State only has 6 NCAA tournament appearances in their history. Bennett had a good reputation as a coach before he was hired by UVa, b/c he was able to win at Washington State.

I know Washington State is still bad, but we're comparing them to a MWC team with just 1 more tournament appearance all time. 2 of the 7 are thanks to the current coach.

yeah, but it's easier to win at Boise State due to their conference affiliation. even though, the Pac-12 can be really horrible at times

Yes but we have to be close to perfect or we're out of the tournament. At Washington State you can lose 11 games or however many Arizona State has lost and still make it.

I want to promote our assistant coach, he was a legend in the Seattle area and if we just every recruit from Seattle who wasn’t a 5 star recruit we would’ve contended for the Pac 12 title the past 3 years had we had a real coach.

Bob Myers, GM of Warriors and former UCLA player, is the head of the search committee and was placing obligatory phone calls to all the top coach's regarding interest. When he called Calipari's rep there wasn't a hangup. Seems Cal feels underappreciated by Kentucky's rabid fan base who were criticizing him earlier this year for not winning a Title for 7 years and losing top recruits to Duke.

I know a lot of folks at UCLA (wife's worked there 20 years and my best friend is a department chair) and a lawyer who worked on the MoU told me. Only problem was vetting and Cal passed. Only fly in the ointment is if Cal wins the Title this year. He still might walk, but less certain. However, do not be surprised by an early round Kentucky exit.

Dudes been there for like 25 years. They haven’t made the tourney in what?? 10 years? It was way pass due for a change. You can only live on the accomplishments of 2004 for so long.

Made it in 2014 and 2016. He doesn't get the best athletes....they had a bad 3 year run.
