nice to see osaka be able to enjoy her championship without someone throwing a tantrum on the other side of the net.

Oh, please. Give me a break. You are too full of it. Did you see how no one was warned when Noami started hitting the racket in anger or emotion of a missed point? That's how this emotional game needs to be called.

did she cheat, break any rackets, threaten the linesman or referee, or carry on the like a loony for half the match?

She has until she's 22 to decide, but I read that it's questionable whether she will actually have to do so. I read that there actually isn't any law in the books that punishes a person for failing to renounce his/her citizenship in another country.

Also, I read that her father decided early on that she would represent Japan, and that it was because USTA didn't take interest in her at a young age. What I read didn't mention anything about the Japan Nationality Act playing a factor.

This is what baffles me. The black father from Haiti who acquired US residency and citizenship goes abroad to Japan from New York and marries a Japanese woman whose parents refused to allow a black man to marry their daughter to the extent that they had to flee from her parents home to Osaka where they had their two kids/daughters. They then moved back to New York,US when Naomi was only 3 years old and raised by her paternal grandparents.

Her black father saw in 1999 the famous black tennis family (Williams) grand tennis plan and decided to follow it to the teeth since he himself was never versed in tennis just like the Williams family when they started. Naomi's family never saw her maternal grand parents until 15 years later or when Naomi was 11 years old. She was raised in the good ole USA taking advantage of US tennis Academies. Naomi herself even taught Japanese by her mom could only understand but barely speak. All of a sudden the black father decides she is Japanese and should represent Japan rather than good ole USA that she was raised and grew up in? Unbelievable.

You are insane. It didn't need to come to that because the umpire knew what she was doing and didn't need to inject herself into the game enough for it to degenerate into a pissing contest. Did you see the coaching that was going on anytime hey looked up to their box? GTFOH you clown.

players aren't robots. referees will let a certain amount go. but when players get to the point where they are abusive and delaying play then a player is likely to get penalized.

to serena's credit she handled herself very well after her crushing quarterfinal loss. made no excuses, credited her opponent on good play, and generally took it in stride. if could only do that all the time.

Funny. The haters only see what their eyes want them to see. Even at the USO those who are real tennis fans and not racists saw how Serena saw herself as mentor to Naomi and upbraided the fans who started booing to back off since it was never Naomi's fault but a prima donna of an umpire who interjected himself into the game. Serena has been gracious a long time. only the haters see otherwise.

This Guns and Guitars clown gives me a facepalm knowing I can't go to PF and hand it to his sorry Trump- loving ass.

Back in Australia, there's more Championship Tennis to be played. Coming up, the Men's Doubles Final with Henri Kontinen and John Peers taking on Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hughues Herbert. Peers, the Aussie will be the home favorite for the Melbourne audience.

Fatty lost. Otherwise she would have had another nightmare episode vs Osaka!

Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hughues Herbert are your Men's Doubles Champions with the 6-2, 7-6 victory. They have now captured each of the Grand Slam titles at least once.

you really have to wonder about her losing a 5-1 lead in the 3rd set.

Only one Championship left to be claimed and that won't be for another 2+ hours.

Funny how you clowns only comment on a 37 year old former black woman who lost. I didn't hear you say anything about Kerber or any other woman. Your hatred is nauseatng.

many of the top women have been an inconsistent underachieving bunch for a long time, so kerber losing early is not that big of a surprise to me.

serena losing a 5-1 lead in the 3rd is more notable
