The crux that I took away from what Shaq meant was they hadn't talked IN PERSON in 4 years, not that they never talked. He mentioned they had texted and that he texted Shareef the day before like you said. That's actually entirely believable. I've got friends that I haven't spoken to in person for years. Everything is thru social media or texts. But it goes back to Shaq's larger point; that HE was too busy. It wasn't that they weren't actually friends. They had much love for each other and communicated in different ways. But Shaq himself devoted himself too much to work to actually make time to spend with Kobe in person and he is deeply regretful now.

I hope that's what he meant because that would be different but then again it probably would have been worded differently if he was talking about not seeing kobe for 4 years instead of not talking to him for 4 years. He definitely had more regret than anyone I've seen talk about Kobe since his death

Is anyone else sick of seeing fights at least once a week in an nba game. I remember 10 years ago you never saw as many fights as you do now. What do you guys think has changed that there’s more fights.

Define fight?

Pushing contests have been part of the landscape for decades.

Because of social media, the 20, 000 different 24 HR sports news shows, it leaks out to the masses.

I don't think there has been a uptick.

Way more REAL fights happened in the Bird, Magic, Jordan, Bad boys days.

...and some of those guys weren't even ejected after clotheslining or punching an opponent.

There's only been 1 fight this year. A little pushing and shoving isn't a fight

Well I consider pushing and shoving and am not a fan of it. This is one main reason a lot of people are turned off to the nba.

No it isn't.

Real fights are cool in hockey and MLB but a little shoving/pushing gets people turned off about the NBA?

You can.

But, it would cost you Gordon H.

Yeah that's what I was thinking as well. Wonder of Ainge does anything to improve the C issues (or maybe I should say lack of a C) Boston has right now?

Russ is playing on another level. He finally realizing he doesn't need to shoot 3's. Shooting % is up and 3 pt attempts are down. Unfortunately, Harden been really bad lately.

Russ entered the game avg 32,8, & 8 on 52% shooting this month. Starting with their game against the lakers, he only attempted four 3's in his last 6 games. This may be one of the best months of his career when it comes to efficiency

I watched the Portland/Houston game yesterday and I was very impressed with Westbrook. Seemed to be very in control, constantly attacking the paint and not settling for any jumpers. It's what I believe is the best version of his game. He's still a menace when he gets a full head of steam to the basket and pretty much unstoppable in the open court.

Dame though....he's on another level right now. He'll probably end up going down as one of the most underappreciated superstars of this generation. Dude is as legit of a superstar as they come.

I just saw the Warriors are only 3.7M away from the Tax line. They could be in line to shed some contracts soon and make it this year under the tax. If they do they at least won't have to worry about a repeater tax when they land Giannis.

Looks like the Clippers are trying to get that JAG, Baynes, to shore up the center position.

Another rumor says they might pivot to Rose, Markieff Morris., if they can't pry Marcus Morris loose.

But, isnt that like wanting to date a Beatle and ending up with Ringo, not John or Paul?

Derrick is balling.

But, I don't see Rose as a fit because he takes the ball out of Lou's hands and Markieff hasn't been good since he was in Phoenix.

I'd rather keep Harkless.

I think it has way more to do with China and split interest.

Let's see what ratings look like after the Superbowl.

Comments like his is hilarious though.

If you don't want to see any pushing or shoving then go watch tennis or golf

As I said before, you clearly place human life and the value of life well over a game or any game. There is a grieving period and this loss is going to take you awhile for several reasons. One is that it makes you look at your own mortality and how blessed you have been to be in the land of the living. it's been five years in May since I lost my mother, I miss her much, but she said many times to continue living and make life what it should be for life belongs to us. When the grieving period is due, you will move forward. For me, I cherish all the times I took my mother out to eat, trips and etc and that's how Kobe would want us to remember him. Vaya Con Dios

I lost my brother almost 2 years ago now, and new things trigger emotions every day, Kobe's death included (they were both born in '78). If his son had died too? Horrifying. The way that tore apart our family for months (and will always linger), I can't help but be sympathetic to any family that goes through something similar. Add onto that an entire city that loved him as a public figure, not to mention national and international fans, and it becomes too big to comprehend.

Understood and I agree 100% - I lost my mother five years ago - and as tough as it was - I also had to remember she was 90 years old and 7 months - She had an incredibly great and long life. In comparison she out live Kobe by 39 years and outlive Gianna by 77 years so there really is no comparison here - At the end of a day - some one responded at the end of a show to a question

Question: So where is the justice then for what happened

Response: There is none - Just Compassion and mercy
